The Penatagon and US public have little to gain by conquering China at the expense of half of its military strength and so many sailors at the bottom of the South China Sea. China would have to represent an extremely existential threat to the USA to justify an attack.

  18. @hyhhy  OH, but I do understand. Russian logistics are terrible and their transport vehicles are in terrible shape and they struggled just to launch an invasion over a land border. Now, imagine that same scenario, but crossing an ocean. I really don't think they would stand a chance.

  49. Seems to me, the key to effective offensive operations is some form of enhanced radar jamming and or cyber attacks to disable the enemy's defensive cababilities. Another possibility is to have swarms of smart drones in the first wave overwhelm the enemy's missile defenses before the real knock out punch comes in the second wave.

  68. It could happen, in theory. The rest of the worlds armed forces would need to invade across the oceans. In this hypothetical scenario, The World would need to wait several decades to build up its naval assets to the pojnt where they surpass the US Navy. However, the cost to The World in terms of lives lost and $$$ would probably not be worth it. The U.S. has too many resources and strategic depth to be easily defeated. If Canada and Mexico were to ally themselves with the USA, that is a population of 500 million people. If you were able to mobilize 15% of the population, that means you have a stsnding army of 75 million souls armed to the teeth with access to all of North Americas oil reserves. The UNAF (Unified North American Forces) would need only to disable Persian Gulf oil assets to knock Asia out of the fight. Europe would have its North Atlantic oil fields, but would not be enough to sustsin the war effort for all of The Worlds forces. The End.
