  5. Mechanics are worth their weight in gold and dont get paid enough. I have worked in surface transportation my whole life and can say that an operation would come to a screaching hault without them.

  8. I think that the issue with DEI, as practiced in the USA, is that it attempts to force somebody into a role precisely because they have a certain gender or ethnicity. In practice, this put under qualified folks into positions that are safety critical. I think we have evolved enough to realize that discrimination is outdated and just plain bad. What should happen instead is that people from these under represented groups should encouraged to get the needed training.

  9. One thing that people need to understand about Sully is that he was not only a very capable pilot with a very calm and grounded personality, he was also good at playing "what if" games in his head. So, I suspect that he had already contemplated this scenario and came up with some alternatives.
