As far as I remember, no one in the government spoke about Deutsche Rasse, because there is no such thing. What the NSDAP talked about is Volksgemeinschaft. Anyone was able to belong to the German Nation as long as they would abide by its laws, social norms and customs. Hence the proclamation by one of the German leaders: "I decide who is German or not". Many Jews, some of whom were military leaders, were honourable Germans because they faithfully adhered to what it took to be a German. Unfortunately many Jews and others chose to work against the security and interests of Germany and were sentenced to a concentration camp.
