You will notice that many of the posters here write about their fathers or uncles actions of murdering German soldiers that had surrendered as having been given orders to do so. Sound familiar??? During the Nuremberg trials such statements were not acceptable as a defense. Patton was correct and he was murdered for his statements.

  8.  @kevinfatemi634  On the Soviet front the rules were different because the Soviet Union never signed the Geneva accord. Partisan fighters behind enemy lines were routinely shot. Any town or city that harboured or supported partisans was subject reprisals. The Germans fought terrible battles in the east to stop the communists from invading Germany and western Europe. All while their home country and citizens were being bombed by Americans and Brits.
