True story this: In high school my son had a Muslim friend. They chummed around practically every day, came to my house for play and snacks, etc. This Muslim boy was friendly with a smiling open face; he was easy to talk with. Upon graduation this Muslim boy went to an Islamic college. Three months later when I met him again this boy was absolutely unrecognizable! He had acquired a pinched ugly face, an abrupt and snarly manner of speaking with every few words being of hateful nature. I tried to find out what happened to him but to no avail. This experience certainly left an impression on me, reinforced by media articles that usually only touch the real issues at hand. To the OP: Canada is still a relatively free country; feel free to go wherever you believe you will be better served. Good luck!
