I have a question for you: My home has a 1/2 HP sewage lift pump and, although we have few and short power failures, my wife would feel a lot better with a battery back-up system. This pump only runs for 20 seconds or so at a time say once every 3 hours. Except when my wife does the laundry... I have checked on the 'net but could not find any definite answers as to the starting/inrush current of the pump motor. I don't have the motor specs in front of me but I seem to recall that the full load motor current is 5 to 6 Amperes, which translates to say 720 Watts. Question: What size inverter should I purchase to start the pump motor safely and reliably? Thank you for your answer.
