  1. In 1969 I had the opportunity to drive the coastal highway from Los Angeles all the way to Vancouver BC. Had an extended stay in San Francisco (Mill Valley really) with a family I met while touring the sailing ship Barclutha in the harbour. This stay with that wonderful family was to have a profound effect on my life and outlook on life in general.
