I watched it until the talking head said: The single European currency was a French/German idea..."
This is a most blatant and outright lie! Germany had absolutely no interest in doing away with the Deutschmark! This currency was well received world-wide, was stable, and made all the imports into Germany affordable. And made Germany's export affordable in foreign markets.
So why would Germany wish to do away with the DM? Fact is it didn't.
When the reunification of Germany became a hot item among European countries, the Brits opposed it outright. The French position was yes-but.
So to get European and others support for the German reunification, Germany was forced to go along with the French idea of a uniform European currency.
The results of this new currency were as predictable as night and day!
The European majority of countries are a spend-thrift lot that couldn't/wouldn't balance a check book. The result of this sort of mismanagement is currency devaluation aka inflation.
Because the northern European countries, which includes Germany, manage their economy and money reasonably well, thus forcing up the value of the European currency.
What in fact happens is that these two conflicting measures force the currency value to be somewhere in the middle: It is too high for the spend-thrift countries, and too low for the fiscally prudent countries.
And none of this is Germany's doing!!! The Germans have always been efficient end effective workers, whereas those living in sunnier and warmer climes prefer to take it easy and sit in sidewalk cafes and discuss whatever turns their crank.
Of course the Germans also discuss their favorite subjects, but they do it after working hours in their favorite Gasthaus.
Add graft and government ineptitude, if not outright theft, and you get the results you see.
And all this has absolutely NOTHING to to with German government action.
If anything you can blame the German business management and German workers for being too productive and effective, and showing up all others for being the slackers that they are. But that is another story...

I couldn't watch it to the end, it would have made me puke.
The author failed to mention a few things:
1) Over a period of 400 years, the French invaded German territory 40 times!
2) Finally the German states were united enough to defeat France with the Faenco-Prussian war, which was declared by France!
3) One can debate who was at fault starting WW I, but it sure was not Germany! The German diplomatic and the Kaiser's personal dispatches prove this.
4) Had France and Britain stayed out of that fight, it would have been over very quickly with a comparatively minimal loss of life. The book "The Pity of War" has much to illuminate these times.
5) Germany had no real choice but to sign the DIKTAT of Versailles because the British in their stupidity continued with their blockade after the cease fire. This caused tremendous starvation In Germany, which the German government could not tolerate. Hence their signature in this infamous document.
6) In the first instance the USA got into a war in which they had no business, but the ceaseless hunt for the almighty dollar reared its head and had to be satisfied.
Then they put out the 14 point plan which, the Germans in their mistaken belief, found acceptable. Perfidious Albion, and its offspring the USA, true to its name, reneged on those points causing great misery in Germany.
Thus the scene was set for the next war.
I submit that the world today would be a much better place had the USA stayed out of both wars.

@bunny9286 I agree with most of what you said, apart from the 1960's stated objective of a unified currency. I was too young then to care.
And yes indeed, the Germans work the least number of hours per year. Interestingly the Americans work among the highest number of hours per year, with no holidays taken by many workers.
And then Germany lost 2 wars that were forced on it.
And yet, the Germans prevailed and are doing very well thank you, in spite of all that, and work the fewest hours per year.
How is this possible???
By working effectively and productively, and applying ingenuity to their work and life.
Strangely enough, many visitors to Germany criticize how regimented the people appear to be, standing in perfectly straight lines at a bus stop, etc. etc.
Well, it seems to me that if the mundane part of everyday living is carried out in accordance to agreed upon rules, that would leave the brain free to engage in more creative and productive activities.
And it shows.

Just stumbled on to your presentation, and it appeared to be quite informative to me. What follows is only tangentially relevant to your presentation here; you may consider it as a topic in the future.
I live in Canada and worked in the Candu nuclear industry for a number of years. Consequently I have great difficulty understanding the anti-nuclear attitude in many countries, but especially in a technologically sophisticated country such as Germany. I suppose that propaganda is effective, no matter where or what topic is being addressed.
Here in Ontario nuclear power plants supply 60% of our electric power needs. Hydro-electric power plants supply about 35%. The rest is supplied by gas turbine plants plus wind and photo-voltaics. The latter two were quite a business racket here, some years ago.
Having said all that, I do not understand why reasonably educated people are so anti-CO2. I know why governments latched onto this hate: It gives them another opportunity to pick our pockets to feed the insatiable government machine. But for people to buy into this nonsense? You may as well admit that you hate all greenery and forests! Plants need CO2 to live. BTW I love forests and plants.
And this brings me to the real point of my rant. I just attended a monthly meeting of a local engineering group of which I am a member. The invited speaker made a presentation about SULPHUR, and its role in the modern economy. We also enjoyed a marvellous roast beef dinner.
I must admit that this sulphur business was a real eye opener! I had seen unit trains out in western Canada; trains with hundreds of open car loaded with sulphur.
This sulphur is the by product of gas and oil production in western Canada. By law it must be removed from the sour oil and gas to make these fuels saleable and usable by the public. The result is a LOT of sulphur. We are talking about millions upon millions of tons of sulphur, world wide! And it is FREE, apart from shipping costs. Free, because without its removal, the oil and gas cannot be sold.
So what? may you ask. It turns out that over 50% of this sulphur is used in the production of fertilizer! Another 40% is used in industry for various ore and metal processing operations, plus chemical and plastics manufacturing. Detergent manufacturers also use this stuff. For industrial use the sulphur is often transformed into sulphuric acid, or H2SO4. Tire manufacturers need it, also.
It should be obvious that with future reductions in the use of oil and gas, serious reductions in the production of FREE sulphur will affect the cost and quantity of fertilizer manufacturing!
With the Earth's population approaching 8 Billion, affordable food production is a major consideration. And that, my friends, will be seriously impacted by the loss of FREE sulphur.
Hence my admonition: Be careful what you wish for, because you may just get it, good and hard.
Information is power, but it must be used wisely.

@Jameson-d8x The Poles were murdering expatriate Germans by the tens of thousands. This was facilitated by the stupid and and useless (to the Poles) guarantee by Britain.
Germany appealed to Britain to help stop that atrocity, but Britain refused.
This, and a number of other issues, were the reasons why Germany invaded Poland. Had Britain, France, and the USA stayed out of that small skirmish, that "war" would have been over in a month.
No, but the stupid, STUPID allies had to side with the Soviets!
Oh well, what goes around comes around. One can see the USA and Britain, historically the biggest war mongers, turning into cesspools before our eyes.

Well, the USA can begin to correct its most outrageous difficulties beginning with post-secondary education, as follows:
1) The USA government makes all education loans directly to the educational institutions, make that ANY post secondary education institution.
2) These institutions will be responsible to assess applicants and their ability to benefit from the education offered. The institution will also assess the likelihood of the applicants obtaining employment after successfully graduating, with sufficient wages to re-pay any loans made by the institution.
Obviously some guide lines need to be established here. Financial institutions have good experience with this type of thing.
3) The educational institution shall be solely and severally responsible to pay back any and all loans to the USA government, without any restrictions. That shall include all the institutions' executives on a pro-rata basis.
These executives shall carry PERSONAL liability plus errors and omissions insurance to make good on their liabilities.
The foregoing would place responsibilities where they belong: On the educational institutions! Further, the system would be self-correcting. Institutions with too many "failures" would go bankrupt. Similarly, executives at these institutions, with too many failures to their credit, would see their insurance premiums escalate to a point where other, more suitable employment, would need to be considered.
All in all a big win for the students as they would be guaranteed a worthwhile degree with decent employment, and the taxpayer who would not have to pay for worthless institutions and its administrators.

She doesn't get into the details at all.
Converting AC to DC (or the other way around) can be done very efficiently, and the converter won't get hot because very little power is lost in the conversion.
Thing is, consumer electronics are specifically designed to be as inexpensive as possible, but still do the job. So, the power converter is built with lower-than-possible efficiency, because it keeps the cost of the device to an absolute minimum, but the converter wastes energy by dissipating it in the form of heat.
Computers, phones, radio & TV sets, etc.--all of these electronic devices only run on DC power, and if they use batteries for portable power, the battery also only works with DC, so a converter is a must--but it must be built in line with the cost of the device. Nobody wants to spend $250 for a charger for a $400 laptop!
AC power is used by the main grid because it's easier to produce at the power station and easier to efficiently convert to different voltages for distribution without having to use converters with expensive electronics or moving, mechanical parts that require maintenance, and that's why every building is supplied with AC power--if you want DC to power an electronic device, the power is converted to DC electronically, usually by the device itself or its own charger.

Hhhhuhuhuhuhuh... Hhhhuhuhuhuh.. Uuuuuhhh, hey Beavis... He said 'Birds of Steel'!
Seriously, DCS World has always been #1, Il-2 1946 is #2, Cliffs of Dover gets honorable mention, and the rest are kinda just there :)
DCS World has been an incredibly detailed sim since the mid-eighties or even earlier, yes it HAS been around that long. It required an uber expensive rig to run on, but they were available. It looked and flew almost as good back then as it does today. Numerous bugs have been ironed out, but's been THE kickass combat flight simulation for thirty years and development continues to this day. Today, an inexpensive ordinary old PC with a midrange (~$400-500) graphics card will run the sim amazingly well because it's been optimized for heavy graphics card use, leaving the CPU to deal with the flight physics.

You're right about psychological torture, and it's extremely common in schools and life in general. If you're physically small and have been so badly abused that no-one will help you out due to lack of social standing, you must have a weapon, ideally a loaded gun. When I was in middle and high school, rape, psych torture (gang stalking) and aggravated assault were extremely common, as they were in the neighbourhood when I was a kid. I don't know where you're from, but Canada is a massively corrupt and dysfunctional country and if you aren't armed either with a gun or a group of physically capable friends who will fight like hell for you and risk prosecution then you might have a hell of a hard life here. The notion that Canada is a peaceful and friendly country is quite a fallacy, it's very violent and corrupt, we just hide our social problems well and are in total denial about it. Psychological and physical torture of all varieties abound here, muscle strength and unarmed combat training alone are no defence against the monstrous psychopaths that have permeated this country and control it's institutions of power. It filters down to every level of society including as low as elementary schools.

Trent Timoy That sounds like a great outcome, wish I could say the same.
A trail of many, many suicides has marked my life since I was little. The ones who are still around have had a lot of ECT and are missing chunks of their 'timelines' of their lives--the only way the psychologists were able to return them to functional (or pseudo-functional i.e. non-suicidal) states. Canadians are fragile, weak people by and large and believe the government will protect them. I'm no better, although I harbor a distaste for bureaucracy like a few who are not completely poisoned by political correctness. The happy ones are only that way because of their obliviousness, both to their own realities and the world around them. Many Canadians wake up one day and leave the country, and for those that stay either depression or denial (or a combination of both!) is the order of the day.
I suppose the best approach to life for kids to be raised with the mantra that you never, ever try to cause trouble for it's own sake, but you always be prepared for it and have to deal with it yourself. If you're not fortunate enough to be well-connected socially (and it sounds like you certainly were), then you're shit outta luck.
Canada is a country flooded with belligerent psychopaths and predatory gang-stalking has affected just about everyone I've ever met in my life. Few people here acknowledge that and are prepared to deal with it. The ones who recognize how bad it is often just leave the country.
Just curious, where are you from?

People have to understand, 'standard' pop music is all about the projection of the performer's image, and not nearly as much about moving or relatable creative expression. It's done this way deliberately--the music industry recognizes that certain sounds and certain elements of image can be brought together to produce a certain carefully-constructed culturally-based product that there is still an enormous market for, and possibly always will be. Frankly, there's a huge money-making industry behind generic popular music--and there's nothing wrong with that. It's no accident that the most noticeable thing about so many pop stars is their higher than normal (sometimes much higher) level of physical attractiveness, because that's the single most important aspect of being strikingly noticeable as one human being among many on the planet. In order for music to quickly become very popular, the performer has to be noticed, and the music has be non-challenging to absorb quickly, even to the point of being widely perceived as being generic.
Have a little beauty like Taylor Swift crooning about her 'baby', and there's a good chance that you're going somewhere. Have an ordinary, plain-looking girl or guy singing a loud, abrasive punk song about corruption in government, and it's much harder to market widely.
Put yourself in the businessman's shoes---money never stinks, even if the music often does ;)

@johnnyenglish583 John, don't be naive. After 100 years of "Germany baaad, allies and communists good", do you honestly believe anything written in the popular, especially English language, media?
Even differing editions of the 1922 encyclopedia, have differing versions.
The one I saw quoted in another blog appears to be a photo of a page in that encyclopedia.
When I looked for that edition of the encyclopedia directly in DUCKDUCKGO, which was not a copy but new typeset, the writeup was different.
It is too easy to decry everything from Germany as Nazi propaganda.
But, Churchill in his memoirs allowed that the propaganda and falsehoods in German newspapers was much less than in the allies' papers.
Perhaps he was quoting from German propaganda, too?

I agree with most of what you say, with this exception.
Had the Soviet Union prevailed, and invaded all of Europe, Britain would have been invaded by the same communists very shortly thereafter. Remember, Stalin didn't care about his casualties; he threw his people into the fight regardless of any losses.
With the huge Soviet hinterland, German industries would have built submarines, anti-aircraft guns, quality tanks in great quantities, etc. such that Britain would either be starved or bombed into submission.
The question then remains: How long would the USA, Canada, Australia, been able to resist any communist invasion?
10 years? 20 years? Who knows, but invaded they would have been.
Regardless of the daily war propaganda "Germany baaad, communists and allies good', I thank my German relatives for having battled so valiantly to stop the Soviet invasion of central and western Europe.

Hmmm, millions and millions of people WERE exterminated by "your brave men who stopped them". Let's see, in the Ukraine alone 6,000,000 people died due to the actions of your "brave men",
Read the biography of Joseph Stalin, the latest one. And the Soviet Union was the "BFF" according to your president Roosevelt who aided and abetted those mass murderers.
Then the ceaseless allied firebombing of civilians. Yes indeed, that took bravery! Bombing from 20,000+ feet altitude.
Are you aware that about 65,000 French civilians died from allied bombing during D-day actions? Or that about 2000 French sailors died during the sinking of the French fleet by your allies? Ignorance is bliss, right?
The Germans fought tooth and nail to stop the communist USSR from invading Germany and Europe which, in all likelihood, would have been the end of the USA also.
Methinks that the western world owes a huge thank you to the German people for stopping the USSR where it did. All the USA accomplished was that eastern Europe fell to those murderous communists until 1990.
Everything I have stated herein can be verified by a modicum of research.
If I am mistaken I shall be pleased to correct my position. Please provide verifiable evidence of my errors.
Thank you.

@EightFrancs Since I have no first hand experience in these matters, I really do not know.
From what I read, and reading msm opinions with a large dose of salt, I concluded that family law is strongly biased towards mothers, and perhaps women also.
But then, I realized as a young man that life was unfair and that I better do my darnedest to bend things in my favour.
To wit, in my long life I bought very few cars. The last two were used cars. That saved me a ton of money that I invested.
I was widowed and am now remarried.
The media was, and is, full of tales of horror regarding marriage.
Believe me when I state that I took the choosing of a lifelong mate to be a most serious business.
When I came to the conclusion that "she may be THE one", I became hyper critical in an observant way and orchestrated a number of harmless scenarios to gain deeper insight into psychological make-up of my intended.
Only then did I propose in a matter of fact manner. There were no expensive dinners, no engagement rings, nothing frivolous like that. I wanted the woman to want me for what I am.
Seemed to have worked for me twice.
BTW I met my second wife via a dating site on the internet.

@santaclaus0815 Germany does not owe Russia one cent.
If reparations are to be discussed between Germany and Russia, it's Russia that owes big-time. After all, it was the USSR that had mobilized in 1941 to invade Germany, or did you miss this little tidbit of history?
Germany definitely did not start WW I, or any other war. France and Russia mobilized before Germany did, and at that time, mobilization was the same as a declaration of war. The Kaiser tried his best to convince the Tsar to stop the Russian mobilization.
Germany did not annex Chechoslovakia, which was an artificially constructed political entity cobbled together after WW I.
Pieces of the Austro-Hungarian empire, and others, were cobbled together for this monstrocity. This included an area with 3.5 million Germans, who were not asked what they wanted. In fact, they wanted to be a part of the German Reich and governed by the NSDAP! Imagine that! That's what the Muenchen agreement was all about.
With that Anschluss, the remaining Czech state was weak and its government feared invasion by the USSR.
The Czech head of government, Mr Hache, and his daughter travelled by train to Berlin to ask for assistance, which was granted.
Mr Hache's daughter wrote favourably about the German reception and her and her father's treatment.
That's it in a nutshell. If you wish, i can refer you to a number of books that deal with this mess. You're welcome.
The popular narrative of those times is so full of lies, that one may state without exaggeration that the exact opposite is much closer to the truth.

@ronnieterry4916 You were not there, and neither was I.
However, my parents were, as were many of my relatives.
Under the NSDAP government everybody had a job by 1936, enough food for all, good housing became available, and travel.
The Autobahn was under construction to be enjoyed with the new Volkswagen that was in the final planning stage.
The standard of living in Germany was arguably the highest among the industrialized nations; the capitalist countries, especially the USA, was still mired in the Great Recession.
Over 1 million Europeans, from all countries, volunteered to fight in the Waffen SS, the most formidable fighting units ever assembled, to prevent the murderous communist USSR from invading Europe.
What did your country do to stop the advance of communism???

@piotra71 Nations kill; therefore no nation is moral.
Why do I question Poland's morality? -Between the two WW, about 35,000 -German expatriates were murdered in Poland.
-Poland would not allow access to the German city of Danzig.
-Poland threatened to invade Germany and move the border to Berlin.
-About 15,000,000 German citizens were forcibly driven from their ancestral homes after the war. Granted that not all were from what became Poland.
-Regarding German territory that was forcibly annexed and "given" to Poland.
A moral entity would have said: "Wait, that's German property, we will not take it BECAUSE WE ARE NOT RECEIVERS OF STOLEN GOODS!
But Poland took those lands and enriched itself with that acquisition.
-As to WW II; Poland spurned all German efforts to come to an equitable solution regarding access to Danzig and other issues. Even British diplomats described the German offers as reasonable in their dispatches to the British government.
But no, Poland instead chose to listen to the siren song of Perfidious Albion and unwisely chose to become Germany's enemy.
Thus you made your bed and now you get to enjoy it.
Many Polish contributors to this discussion hide behind the mantra that "Russia stole the land and Poland had nothing to do with that."
Even if that were true, under the law Poland is still a RECEIVER OF STOLEN GOODS, and must return it. To say nothing of the compensation owing to all those Germans driven from their homes, with their property confiscated without any compensation.
Settle those issues equitably and maybe, just maybe, Germans will entertain some compensation for Poland.
You're not holding your breath for this to occur, are you? Neither am I.
Before you disclaim what I wrote above, you should note that all is verifiable by examining diplomatic dispatches of various ambassadors.

When I was widowed after 35 years of the happiest years of my life, I had to wait two years to realize that I didn't want to be alone for the rest of my life. Sooo, what to do? How does one go about meeting a mate nowadays (this was 12 years ago)? I met my first wife in a dance hall she frequented with friends. None of our friends or acquaintances turned my crank except one, but she was happily married. I contemplated looking up old girlfriends, but the one I remembered most fondly I could not locate.
Well, I'd heard of on-line dating sites. I poked around on a number of them until I found one that suited my disposition. I signed up, paid my fee, and went wild! No, not really. I thought long and hard about the information I was going to put into my biography. Especially the financial status I pondered extensively.
Since I was seriously interested in meeting someone for the long haul, I was truthful in my biography and even avoiding permitted advertising exaggerations. I also posted 3 recent pictures of myself in various surroundings.
Under the headings "must have" and "deal breakers" I was as blunt as a hammer and spelled out what I required.
The fifth woman I contacted anonymously through this site I met. I took a fancy chocolate along as a present. We agreed to meet in a coffee shop in her local shopping mall.
The tap dancing we did on that dating site, all anonymously of course, is an interesting story in itself. It certainly taught me an interesting method of interrogation. This went on for more than a month before we finally agreed to meet in that coffee shop. Our second date was to visit a new local museum. The third date probably was a short road trip.
To cut a long story short, we were married about 2 years later and have been married now for 8 years and still going strong. I must admit that the first year was a little rocky and we had to learn how to talk to each other, all over again. Why? Because each of us had a professional career, were set in our ways, and we wanted what we wanted.
After that break-in period we quickly settled down into a new and very loving marriage; much better that I had hoped in my dreams.

@fzarro9947 Your problem is that you are unable to see that all the actions the USA has to take to protect the world against the USSR (now Russia), and China, were caused by the USA!
Sticking your nose into European affairs, twice, no less, shipping millions of tons of war material, first to support the British war mongers and then to the murderous Soviet Union, is only part of the evils your miserable country is responsible for.
Your incessant bombing of everything that moved, in Germany, caused severe shortages every where, including the concentration camps.
In 1941 the Soviet Union had mobilized to invade Germany and western Europe. Germany struck preemptively 1 month earlier to effectively stop this.
But, your criminal bankers and politicians had to make their profits and supported the murderous communist Soviet Union with millions of tons of war material!
With the destruction of Germany, the USA removed removed the ability of Europe to defend itself against the communist hordes.
Thus the USA made its bed and can now lie in it!
To further amplify the the Niagara Falls of profits, the USA began to ship the manufacturing of consumer goods to China, to the detriment of the American worker!
A study of history would have disclosed that for all their fault the Chinese are no dummies, but would learn all they could and, because of endless man power and education, would extend that learning so as to produce formidable weapons that may threaten the American's military supremacy.
Certainly the fact that the USA's machinations have driven Russia into the arms of China, that military combination is a very formidable opposition to American war mongering world-wide.
Again, an American made bed, lumpy at that, that you are welcome to.
In conclusion, what has all that war mongering brought to the USA?
Well, just examine the cess pool the USA is quickly turning into!
Unlike the rubbish you spewed earlier, I can support my written opinion with more than a dozen books, some written by American air force personnel, others by US politicians and interested people.

Do you think this is a good thing? I would prefer that each nation do its own thing and let the best system prevail. Natural selection if you will.
Ask yourself this question: Why did the entire capitalist world join forces with the communist world, after all, they are sworn enemies as the cold war proved, to destroy a small European country? Because under the NSDAP government Germany had proven to be a better economic system than the other 2 alternatives. The German economy was booming with no unemployment by the mid 1930's. The Volkwagen was developed and became, with Toyota, the largest, most successful automobile corporations in the world. Then there was the construction of the Autobahn, the model for the USA interstate highway system. Then there is Kraft durch Freude, the holiday system whereby ordinary Germans had the opportunity to travel and visit foreign countries, at very reasonable cost.
Are you aware that in Germany the worker's holidays are partially paid for by life insurance companies? That's because these worthies figured out, imagine that, that holidays make for healthier people with longer lives. This allows the insurance companies to hang onto the premiums paid for longer periods of time, earning more investment income, before having to pay death benefits. Have you ever heard of such a thing anywhere else? Me neither.
Then there was government to government trade. Germany would ship machinery and fertilizer to Argentina, who would in return ship meat and grain to Germany. No international bankers involved who profited from the work of others.
The British and other international banks would not stand for this and fostered war.
The mantra that All Wars are Bankers' Wars rings true to this individual.

@phlm9038 Germany was never interested in a war with Britain. This is a hard fact.
Britain, and France, declared war on Germany. Another hard fact.
The Soviet Union was poised to invade Europe in 1941. Another hard fact.
"Judea Declares War on Germany" as per newspaper headlines in 1933. Another hard fact.
I agree that Germany invaded Poland, for what I believe to be very good reasons. You may disagree, so be it. However, this skirmish would have been resolved in a month, and that would have been the end of that.
Yet France, and Britain, chose to declare war on Germany. Why? Yes, I know the common response: because Britain had guaranteed to help Poland in any war with Germany. The obvious follow-up question: Why that guarantee?
In the end it was worthless and Poland became communist occupied territory. According to what I read Britain was fully aware that its guarantee war worthless. Then why that guarantee?
I would be interested in your views on the WHY questions, above. I'll give you my thoughts afterwards.
While I don't recall the military losses in Europe, I'll agree with your list for this purpose. From what I read, 80% of German military losses were on the eastern front battling the communist Soviet Union. That would mean approx. 4.25 million German military deaths due to battling those communists.
That would leave about 1.1 million dead soldiers on the western front. What were the combined losses of Britain, France, and the USA?
I don't know how many German civilians were murdered by the communists.
Many commentators in this channel and others, have no appreciation of the importance of this epic battle. Had the communists prevailed, all of Europe, including Britain, would be suffering under the communist yoke.
Realistically, after that hypothetical communist victory, how long could the USA, and then all other democratic countries, have held out? I certainly have no idea, but I submit that eventually, say within 10 years, they all would have fallen to the communists. Why do believe this? Because German inventiveness, industriousness, and organizational skills, combined with Soviet man power, natural resources, and a huge land mass, would have been unbeatable. Again, I invite your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I'm sure you have heard of the Autobahn, Volkswagen, smoking is bad for you, pregnant mother's shouldn't drink alcohol, jet aircraft, space travel, etc. etc. All originated or encouraged by Hitler's party, the NSDAP.
What other, original, durable, ideas were originated or put into production by the victors Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill?

@tatyanaishchenko3456 You really need to do some serious reading on these issues, and not the crap by the main stream media or court historians. (Those who get paid to write history books).
Norway and Denmark were occupied by Germany to stop the British from doing so.
You do know that France, Britain, USA defacto, declared war on Germany, right?
Greece sided with Britain, and the communist partisans in Greece made the situation much worse for everybody.
As to Yugoslavia, that is a somewhat complex issue. It became a country after WWI, with many German expatriates who wanted to be part of Germany.
The animosity towards Germans was proved by the horrendous murders, AFTER the war ended, of German soldiers and civilians.

Methinks that some of the claims the author made are questionable.
But first, let's define a few things:
Inflation: Price increases are not necessarily due to inflation; bad harvests, labour strikes, factory fires or explosions, all may cause a shortage of those desired goods with an attendant price increase.
The definition of inflation is that money put into circulation WITHOUT the requisite goods and services to balance this, will always cause rising prices. Not necessarily across the board, but price increases somewhere in the market.
The public really becomes aware of this when everyday goods and services visibly increase in price. Gasoline is a case in point, as are groceries.
Deflation: This becomes apparent when prices drop for gasoline and groceries. Dropping prices may be due to a large number of factors, such as abnormally good harvests, a large find of minerals cheap to mine, new factories producing similar goods as before but, better, cheaper, and faster.
A case in point is the high-tech industry that produces cell phones, personal computers, flat screen televisions, and a myriad of other, everyday goods. And these goods have dropped in prices absolutely tremendously over the last 20 to 30 years!
So the questing at hand is: Why are dropping prices BAD for the economy? Lower prices make the goods affordable to more customers, and this is bad?
Whereas inflation has the effect of increasing prices, making those goods less affordable to the consumer, with the effect of reducing production and employment. The effects of deflation, causing lower prices, will do exactly the opposite, as the huge markets for cell phones, flat screen TV, personal computers, etc., has amply demonstrated .demonstrated.

Exactly correct. There may be numerous reasons for rising prices; shortages of goods and services is one of them.
However, putting money into circulation (which is a sovereign government's prerogative), for which no goods or services have been produced, will always cause rising prices somewhere, depending on who gets the surplus money.
In the past, certainly since 2008 or so, it was bankers and financiers who received the money. This had the effect of driving up prices of stocks and real estate.
With covid and helicopter money, the man-in-the-street received the largesse, increasing demand for consumer goods.
The interruption of shipping, war with Russia, etc. also have an effect on rising prices.
One might conclude that this is the perfect storm for rising prices.

Fire bombing German women and children from 20,000 feet was so much more humane, right? Bombing German hospitals and sinking German refuge ships was perfectly normal and humane, right?
War is a nasty business, and nobody claimed that the Germans were choir boys.
But a very famous philosopher stated: "Let him without sin, cast the first stone."
Look up Katyn Forest massacre. At the Nuremberg war crimes trials German officers were convicted of this crime and executed!
Just in case you missed it, at the break-up of the Soviet Union, their head of government allowed that this massacre was, in fact, carried out by the "humanitarian" Soviet Union, and that the USSR general who had given the order for that massacre, had been a judge in Nuremberg and had condemned the German officers.

@jasondashney The NSDAP government in Germany did not just "want" to improve the standard of living in Germany; they set out to do so and achieved this spectacularly.
Three years after forming the government unemployment had been reduced to practically zero. And this while the western countries were still mired in the Great Depression!
With your question "Is starting wars that occur..." you most likely infer that Germany did so well because it "started all the wars".
Let me tell you here and now that Germany, or its predecessor, never started any wars.
The war mongers were always the Brits, French, USA, and sometimes Russia followed by USSR.
Obviously you are not taught this in school, and with the mass media it's always "Germany baaad, the bestial, fire bombing allies always good".
My parents became adults during those times in Germany and were married in 1942. Their experiences as related to me, and those of my numerous relatives, are totally at odds with what we are still told today. And that includes their dealing with police authorities.
Fact remains, the NSDAP government did much, much, to improve the standard of living for the working man.
The Autobahn and Volkswagen are only two reminders of those times.
International travel, employee representation on the employer's board of directors, discouraging smoking, etc. are few of the other ideas implemented. There are dozens more.
Compare that to what's happening now. Everything out governments do diminishes the standard of living for the tax payer.

@masr8875 Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
And, you raise a very good question as to which book's narrative and author to believe.
Myself I am inclined to disbelieve authors who have an axe to grind, or benefit personally from the narrative they propound.
Then there are those whose tome trumpets WW propaganda "Germany always bad, allies always good".
For several reasons my interest is WW II and the so-called holocaust. And I can tell you unreservedly that everything you see/hear/read in the mass media, or from court historians, is rubbish, with the exact opposite being much closer to the truth.
Thus I am more likely to give credence to authors who write books on these topics for altruistic reasons.
Or, if it is a professional writer, his book has been reviewed for accuracy with authentic historic documents. For example "Icebreaker".
This, of course, is the main problem with holocaustianity and German atrocity propaganda. There are no authenticated original documents about any such allegations.
Every time I ask for them, I get silence in return.
Even the curator at the NSDAP archives in Bad Arolsen, Germany, had to admit that there were no documents to prove that any alleged atrocities had occurred. This in over 50 million documents!
I wish you a good and prosperous life, also.

Liebe Frau Sabine! I feel your pain.
I'm a retired Professional Engineer (BASc, P.Eng.) here in southern Ontario. After a marvellous beginning to my professional career lasting almost 14 years, I was caught up in the economic maelstrom of the times.
Following some promising starts that didn't pan out for various reason, I said screw it and hung out my shingle as an industrial consultant. (Not Consulting Engineer because that required different licensing I wasn't interested in obtaining).
After a bit of a slow start, I had to learn how best to advertise my skill set, I struck the right note and never looked back.
I had always been complimented on my work which was mostly concerned with industrial problem solving.
Case in point: Why did this particular conveyor hanger keep breaking every year? Why did this particular group of crane runway assembly bolts fail every year or so, falling on workers below? I was very good at this and was always welcomed with open arms and paid on time.
Now my bugaboo with modern science.
The theories of electricity, light, and gravity were formulated at approximately the same time. We now know much about the former two: We know how to create it, control it, bend it, mutilate it etc.
Not so with gravity of which very little is known. What is supposedly known cannot explain the stable orbits of the planets including Earth, around the sun.
Recently I had the opportunity to attend a presentation by a top professor regarding the big bang. This fellow was quite forthcoming and answered many questions from the audience with: "I do not know"! Thus encouraged I asked my question regarding gravity and the planets' orbits.
He was a little taken aback and finally conceded that the stable orbits could only be explained on the basis of relativity. Since I am not a fan of Einstein's work I was at a loss with this reply. What does relativity have to do with the movement of the planets?
Perhaps no one knows why the orbits are stable???
Good luck and Best Wishes from Canada.

Read a few of the replies below.
If you are dissatisfied with your salary only, and everything else is acceptable, it is worthwhile to negotiate a salary raise with your current employer.
A word of caution here. Do not waltz into your manager's office and threaten to leave his employ unless he grants you an X% salary increase. The odds are excellent that he will tell not to let the door hit you on your way out. Or, if he is a really sharp guy, can give you umpteen reasons why he cannot afford to give you a raise at this time. Note that the right time for a raise never occurs!
Good managers are numbers people; consequently you need to express your assertion for a raise in hard numbers. NEVER make any "or else" statements!
I'm sure you have heard the expression that in any organization, 20% of the people do 80% of the work. Consequently, to make an effective case for your salary raise, make absolutely sure that you are one of that 20% group. Then take the time and make the effort to substantiate your 20% position, and your superior value to the organization, in hard and unassailable numbers. Run your arguments and numbers by a trusted friend or relative, to check for reasonableness, soundness of argument, mistakes, etc. Have them play "devil's advocate" so that you may review any adverse commentary ahead of time and plan your counter argument accordingly.
And only if that plan failed would I advocate looking for greener pastures and turning down any counter offer.
If, of course, you dislike your boss, work, environment, political scene, management, etc. by all means look for those greener pastures and turn down any counter offer.
As some have written below, they accepted a counter offer and were happy for the rest of their days. I am truly happy for them. But I would bet dollars to donuts that many, MANY, were not happy about staying with their old employer. There are usually a number of reasons that compel an individual to seek new employment. Salary alone is not that often the only reason. Be honest with yourself and make a pro and con listing of all the reasons why you should go or stay. Only then decide to take action and look for greener fields.

The rubbish spouted by most posters, below, is beyond belief. Who was it that wrote: "You can never go wrong underestimating the intelligence of the great unwashed"!
Read the book "Icebreaker" by Viktor Suvorov to find out who really started that meat grinder! And who aided and abetted the murderous, communist, USSR!
The Germans were choir boys compared to the bestial behaviour of the allies: Fire bombing of civilians by the "courageous" Brits and Yanks from 20,000 feet, and the USSR raping practically everything that moved.
And don't give us the shit "Germany started it all.
It was Britain, France, and USA that turned a German police action, that would have been over in 3 weeks, into the war it became.

The fix for unbridled capitalism is simple. Easy? Perhaps not, I don't know.
The plan is as follows:
1) Make all financial transactions illegal that are illegal in every day business transactions. Eg. Naked shorts, fractional banking, credit default swaps, etc. The underlying actions to these transactions would get one arrested for fraud in any other business.
2) Tax all financial transactions like any other transaction. If I buy a suit I get taxed, ditto for car, hotel room, etc. Why not financial transactions?
3) An economy based on Labour Capitalism instead of Finance Capitalism, ie. an economy where work performed is king and not cash money. The money put into circulation would be based on the amount of labour performed. This is very easy to do.
What is the advantage? Work performed is real, someone put in the hours to accomplish a task. It is also limited by the labour hours available! Money itself is not limited because it can be printed without limitation; nowadays computer keystrokes suffice. This is the very definition of inflation: Putting money into circulation for which no goods or services have been produced. RESULT: Higher prices for everyone.
Note that higher prices by themselves are NOT inflation, as these may be caused by a number of actions or occurrences.
Higher prices are a symptom of inflation: When there is inflation, ie. money is put into circulation for which no goods or services have been produced, higher prices are ALWAYS the result.
NB.: What I have described above is not new or original. It was implemented 85 or so years ago in a small country, where it performed economic miracles while the USA was mired in the Deep Depression.

@cbs577 Here is a thumbnail sketch:
- In 1933 Judea declared war on Germany.
- Between the two wars German expatriates that lived in the territory stolen from Germany post WW I, were murdered by the Poles by the tens of thousands.
- Germany appealed to Britain to get help in trying to stop this. Britain did not even answer that diplomatic communique.
- Why would Germany want to talk to Britain about this problem? Because Britain had given Poland the guarantee that in the case of any war between Poland and Germany, Britain would help Poland.
- With this British guarantee the Poles really became obnoxious and chauvinistic: They threatened to invade Germany and move the Polish border to Berlin. There were also a number of violent border excursions by the Poles, some with weapons and deadly violence.
- Adding all that up, the German government decided to march into Poland to stop all these murders and aggressions.
- 1939 and Germany marched into Poland. Within 1 month Poland was subdued, and that was that, except:
- !939 and France declared war on Germany, and marched into Germany.
- 1939 and Britain declared war on Germany and dragged the USA into this mess. Note that the USA was officially neutral while shipping war material to Britain.
- 1941, and the USSR is poised to invade Germany and western Europe.
- Germany anticipated this invasion, and struck preemptively 1 month prior to the Soviet invasion.
- The USA, always ready to make a buck, aided the USSR by shipping millions of tons of war material to the USSR.
- By 1945 Germany was exhausted, what with the incessant bombing of civilians and anything that moved. That included supply convoys to concentration camps.
- You decide what to make of this.

@mikehiers2671 If you are an American, have you heard about Joe McCarthy, and what he was fighting? He did his best to root out the communists that had infiltrated the US administration since at least the time of Franklin Roosevelt's presidency. You can research this yourself, but I warn you of what you will run into. McCarthy was so dragged through the mud that you'd hardly recognize him.
Then, who called the leader of the communist Soviet Union "Uncle Joe"? It was also US President Franklin Roosevelt.
Just now I am reading the book "Germany's War" by John Wear.
John went to great length to authenticate any documentation that he included in his book. Among them were several dispatches from the Polish Ambassador in the US, to his government in Poland. One can hardly claim that the Poles were pro-German at that time. (They were until their great statesman died).
Anyway, that worthy wrote in his dispatches that the US government was overrun by "certain" influencers, and that they were pushing Poland, Britain, and France, into a war with Germany. Personally I always thought it was Churchill, but John, combined with Pat Buchanan's book "Churchill and Hitler, the Unnecessary War", convinced me otherwise.
So, after all that, I submit that the inheritors and adherents of "Uncle Joe" are now running the ship of state into the ground while chipping away at our freedoms. Read up on the "Frankfurt School" for additional information. It is not German, regardless of the name.
What do you think?

@JB-wr2lx It's NOT what Canadians want. Trudeau was elected with only 33% or so of the voters. That's fewer than the votes Hitler got in his hey day.
The problem is with the electoral system, which is two-fold.
1) 50% of the vote plus 1 takes the riding. As would 99.99% of the votes. This makes it possible that in a country with this system the majority voted against the party that actually assumed the government, as in Canada.
2) Permitting minority governments, where a party with less than 50% plus 1 assumes the government, as in Canada.
One solution would be to force coalition governments as practised in Germany and Israel, where parties with less that 50% plus 1 must form formal coalitions with a total of more than 50% of the vote.
But even this system has its problems, as the numerous elections in Israel have show.
The only long-term solution, as I see it, is a well informed electorate, and political candidates that are legally responsible for their promises and actions. The promises would become binding contracts if elected.
Another method would be earned votes, ie. voters would be able to earn more than one vote through certain meritorious achievements. The book "The Seventh Vote" writes about this in a tangential way.

@Omar.223s Thanks for your reply!
Agreed that my language is a little loose in stating that the Germans kept the communists out of Europe.
To be more precise I should have said: "Out of Western Europe", even though that description is not that accurate. Perhaps "Central and Western Europe" is more precise.
I shall amend my scribbles accordingly.
Instead of "fascism" I prefer the description "National Socialist" (NS), because it is very specific to Germany.
It is totally understandable that you have difficulties with NS. We all have been inundated with the propaganda "Germany baaad, allies and communists good!
My parents became adults during the NS regime and told me that life then was much better than they had as children, even though both sides of my family were skilled workers with steady employment.
Indeed my mother had an amusing anecdote when dealing with the police to obtain a travel permit to visit her uncle in Belgium.
NS Germany had arguably the highest standard of living for the working man, because the capitalist countries were still mired in the depths of the great depression.
Further, by 1936 the German unemployment rate had dropped from a high of 40%! to 1%.
I live in Canada and, of course, enjoy the standard of living I have managed to achieve for myself and my family. It wasn't always easy but, by the grace of my understanding wife, we did ok during the thankfully brief, tough times.
Having said that, I can see my country going to hell in a hand basked with the constant encroachment on personal rights.
The Canadian's tolerance for this is astounding and worrisome.
They got bent out of shape some years ago when a cable TV operator increased rates!
Recently the truckers carried out a very foolish strike campaign in which they left themselves open to individual retaliation by the power's that be. All to oppose legislation that was already on the way out!
But nary a word when the government invoked ever increasing carbon taxes on one of Canada's imperative commodities: Heating fuel for the atrocious winters we have.
Then there are the ridiculous and exceedingly costly gun control laws.
In NS Germany every German citizen of good standing, and over the age of 18 (or 21?) had the right to gun ownership.
And abortion was illegal.
What would I prefer? The jury is out on that one. The social contract with our government is "Peace, Order, and Good Government". Right now we have none of that. The social contract is broken.

Much of what you wrote is true, but... There is always a but, right?
Ukraine, aided and abetted by USA and British war mongers, bombarded the Donbas region in 2014, murdering numerous Russian-sympathetic people. The Russians of course were upset with this and asked the Ukrainian government to stop this.
With USA encouragement the Ukrainians carried on, until the Russians, under Mr Putin, said "enough".
Come and think of it, this sounds like 1939 all over again, only with different players.

Small problem: There is physical evidence and authentic documentation available to prove that slavery existed in the USA.
However, not one single, solitary, shred of authenticated forensic evidence exists to support any assertions of any holocaust.
Furthermore, you can discuss the occurrence or lack thereof of slavery all you like, and no one will take much offence or throw you in jail
Discuss the holocaust in Europe similarly, and you will be imprisoned for up to 5 years!
Ursula Haverbeck, 93 years old, is in prison in Germany for publicly refusing to believe WW II holocaust propaganda.
In the last week or so, Canada has made it illegal to question the WW II allegations, also.

@guidototh6091 Believe what you want, but everything you mention was the result of German reaction to its enemies' actions.
1) 35,000 German expatriates were being murdered in Poland. Germany marched in to stop that.
2) The head of government of Czechoslovakia invited Germany to help protect it against Soviet invasion.
3) Norway and Denmark were about to be invaded by Britain. Germany beat them to it. Belgium and Holland aided and abetted Britain by allowing British bombers to cross their territory on their way to bomb German civilians. Wheras Switzerland, also neutral, shot down American and German planes that crossed into its territory.
4) Yugoslavia? What about it? After the Treaty of Versailles large segments of German speaking territories were assigned to this artificial country. These German speaking people wanted to become part of Germany proper. The 14 points by US president Wilson promised this. Based on these 14 points Germany downed its arms and was betrayed, because those 14 points were never implemented by the allies.
5) The murderous communist Soviet Union, aided and abetted by the Americans and Britain, was poised to invade Europe 1 month after the German preemptive strike. You obviously would prefer to live under communism. Go for it.
6) Greece, ah yes, Greece. They sided with the British and got their lumps. Tough.
7) This may be hard for you to swallow, but bear with me. While the USA was officially neutral, the USA shipped weapons, munitions, foodstuffs, even war ships, to help the warmongering British who had declared war on Germany, and had extended that worthless guarantee to Poland.
Further, the USA interfered with German shipping and arrested German ships in US seaports.
The US administration did not have the moral courage to declare war on Germany, and you know why? 80% of the US population and its elected representatives were dead set against getting involved in any European war.
In order for Germany to fight back legally against the illegal US agression, Germany was forced to declare war. Military orders could not be given in Germany without a declaration of war against the enemy.
Yes, I like what Nazi Germany stood for and achieved; the allied war propaganda notwithstanding.
In Nazi Germany mothers and the family were held in very high esteem. Abortions were illegal. Every German citizen of good standing was permitted a gun permit. Target shooting is still a favourite sport in Germany, as the many Schuetzenfeste, sharp shooter's festival, attest.
The standard of living for the German worker was improved tremendously, what with Worker's Councils in practically every employers' establishment. These councils had representation on the businesses board of directors, keeping the workers' apprised of all high-level decision making, and the firm's economic health. These councils exist to this day and are part of the reason for so few labour strikes in Germany.
And then there is the curtailment of the profiteering of international bankers off the work of the actual wealth creators. This was in all likelihood the primary reason why the capitalists and communists fought against Germany.

The Soviet Union was poised to invade Germany and overrun all of Europe . Germany initiated a pre-emptive strike to stop this, but the stupid USA had to butt in, supplying the Soviet Union with millions of tons of war material, including 450,000 trucks and US Dollar printing plates.
When Britain declared war on Germany, the officially neutral USA supplied war material to Britain and interfered with German shipping and naval vessels.
In order for Germany to fight back against the illegal USA attacks on German shipping, Germany had to declare war on the USA officially in order for those orders to be legal in Germany.
Further, all countries that were invaded or occupied by Germany either sided with the allies (Belgium and Holland who permitted British bombers to cross their territory, plus other non-neutral actions) and Denmark and Norway, who were threatened with British occupation. Greece also sided with Britain and took its lumps.
And Germany was/is the bad guy???
If you can prove me wrong on any of the points above, with factual and verifiable proof, I'd be pleased to change my point of view. Arm waving, and Offenkundigkeit won't cut it, neither will and "evidence" from the Nuernburg show trials, which USA Supreme Court Justices have labelled with rather uncomplimentary terms and as a permanent shame on USA jurisprudence.

@Edax_Royeaux Indeed, not many people know this fact, because the USA was officially neutral at that time.
Another fact not well known is that Roosevelt and Churchill had been in contact and were discussing plans for war with Germany in the mid 1930's already, years before Churchill was even prime minister of Britain.
A couple of books that deal with these and other circumstances are "Churchill and Hitler, the Unnecessary War" by Pat Buchanan. Another book is "Germany's War" by John Wear. I could cite at least another dozen with similar theme.
When France and Britain formally declared war on Germany, the USA joined them by supplying war material and ships to Britain, while arresting German ships in US harbours at that time.
The US fired at German naval vessels on the Atlantic, and interfered with German shipping, all this while officially neutral.
Note that during this time German ships did not fire upon American vessels in fact, the Germans did their best to avoid any confrontation with the USA.
The USA aggressiveness got so bad that the German government finally declared war on the USA so that legal commands could be given in Germany for its navy to fight back.
Trust this explains things, please feel free to ask additional questions.
