  1. It is a misconception to believe that the USA did not enter WW I & II until near the end. In fact the USA sent war material, food, weapons, trucks, airplane engines, etc. to the Soviet Union and Britain, amounting to millions of tons. Whole factories were shipped to the Soviet Union, including US Dollar printing plates! And these shipments commenced very early on, while the USA was still officially a neutral country! In the Atlantic the US interfered with German shipping and naval vessels while officially neutral. The only reason US soldiers were not sent earlier to fight Germany was because the US population in general was 80% opposed to any involvement in any European conflict. It took a tremendous amount of British and US anti-German war propaganda consisting of outright lies, to get the public on-side. Unfortunately these lies are still propagated to this day.

If I were asked for career advice, and that individual had at least a little mechanical ability, I'd advise that person to go to a good community college, and get a certificate in heating, ventilation, & air conditioning. And make sure that this certificate includes domestic electrician and gas fitter certification. Then do your time as an apprentice and journeyman, learning the tricks of the trade. This stuff cannot be automated, nor subcontracted out to some rathole place offshore. You'll always have work, and if you wish and have ability, eventually open your own business. As a bonus you'll save a boatload of money in tuition.
