  1. We had a special needs employee working with us. He would meow and make noises all day long. It did not bother any of us but management made a no meowing or animal noises rule. This guys social worker sees this note and goes to HR. HR informs management they cannot enforce this against a special needs employee as that would be illegal. So we had a rule everybody had to follow except the person the rule was created for. Lol

  2. I was working as the Head receiver in the warehouse of a very busy retail store. I had gotten my sister a job there as a cashier/stocker. One day I go into work and my manager tells me shes sorry for my loss. I thanked her but inside I’m wondering to myself who died. As more and more coworkers come in everybody is giving condolences. I pull a very good work friend to the side and I ask him who died. He said your grandmother passed last night. He was working mid shift and he said my sister called in crying and took the night off. I must have had this puzzled look on my face. I checked my phone. No texts from my family. Hmmmm So I call my mom and casually ask her how grandma is doing. Mom says fine. My friend starts laughing. He said I looked so confused. I had to take a bereavement day to keep my sisters lie a secret.

  3. Imagine seeing this email Hi everybody. Normally we cant send emails after death but they are making an exception this time. Theres no way I would want anybody to work extra hard in my memory while not being allowed to share those memories with each other under threat of being fired.

  4. Another big lie is if you do good in school you will get a good job and be able to buy a house and afford a good life and a great retirement. What a load of BS that was

  5. One of my first jobs I was working with this guy who just did not like me. Fast forward 10 years later im working as an assistant manager at a different restaurant and the owner brings in a new manager. It was the guy from the past who did not like me. That day he fired me sating our management styles did not match. That did not fly at unemployment and I was able to collect until I found a new job

  6. Nothing so creative as these people. Back in the 90s I was managing restaurants and had been working in restaurants for over 20 years. I was getting burned out and was thinking about just chucking it all and finding a different line of work. There were 3 managers and a few supervisors who were trained to open and close so there was always somebody to cover days off and vacations without issues until the owners decided they did not want to pay front line hourly workers 2 dollars extra an hour to be supervisors. This left opening and closing duties to be performed only by managers. So we said we needed to hire at least 1 more manager. Owners said no. 3 was enough. So we went on like that for about a month and then one of the other managers quit. That left only 2. We decided that we would work M-F. He would open every day. I would close every day. Then one of us would work all day Sat. And the other would work all day Sunday and we would switch that as well. The owners said they would hire a third soon. This went on for a month. One Friday night one of the owners came in to do a check on the place and I asked him how the search for a third and hopefully a fourth manager was going. He said oh we decided since you two were doing so well we would not hire a third and we never had plans to hire a fourth. I asked him if he was kidding. He said no. I then asked him if he knew how to close the restaurant. He said of course he did. It’s his restaurant. I started this place he told me and I can do everything in here. Good I said. I Quit. Have fun running your restaurant. Oh and don’t bother calling the other manager. He’s on vacation until the end of next week. I was gonna work doubles to give him time with his family so now you can call the other owners and figure out how to cover your manager shifts this weekend next week and next Saturday. I handed him my keys as hes telling me im making a mistake and he will make sure everybody knows how I quit. Ill never get a job again. I just went in back and grabbed my stuff and left. Later that night I get a call from the other manager. They called him up and wanted him to come in and close because I quit. I said yea I quit. They have no plans on hiring another manager. He said he figured as much. Then he said they threatened to fire him if he did not stop his vacation and come run the store. He told me he said well then I quit too. Lol Turns out he had another job lined up and was waiting for them to offer him the job before he told me. That place went out of business less than a year after that. I felt bad for all the employees but the owners were not worth working for after they decided to cut pay and manpower to save money

  7. Usa here. I have a friend that wants to get me in on what she is doing. She has 4 customer rep jobs all wfh. 2 are full time 2 are part time. She starts at 7am and is done by 5pm. For most of the day she has 4 separate screens open on 2 monitors. She moves between the calls sometimes taking two different calls at the same time. She has been doing this for over 2 years at this point. She said she tried to fit another one in but it was to difficult to keep her productivity on the others in the green as she calls it. So she basically has 4 jobs at the same time and collects 4 paychecks. As long as shes doing the work I see no issues but I’m not sure her employers would see it that way.
