It is really not that friendly, especially to outsiders. IMO not recommended Property taxes are high too.

@edsweeney6843 The Rapid City area would be less of a topographical shock for that, but you will definitely encounter less California transplants there. IMO that part of SD is more friendly than the majority of the flat rest of the state.

@willtwain1383 I personally like, Red Wing, Winona, and Duluth. Towns along the Lake Superior Drive are nice, but can be very expensive. Someday I may visit International Falls

@user-yg4hv3un7c Arizona is less expensive and there are areas with Colorado like scenery in the high country or on the sky islands. Unfortunately, not much in the way of water 💦
