  4. The first girl I dated was from a small town in Iowa, and she was extremely brilliant, and could have easily competed with those who graduated from elite schools. Back when I knew her 35 plus years ago, she told me there was nothing to do but read. Have not seen her since then, but she decided to remain in the same general area.

  6. I seriously was going to make the same reply regarding those NYC schools, but then I withheld my comment because I was not certain if they fell under the public domain. When I went to college in NJ, I knew classmates that went to all three, and they barely studied for Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Calculus exams and would pull A’s or B’s after partying the night before, while I had to spend 2 to 3 hours to get comparable grades.

  7.  @ridesharegold6659  Lived in NJ years ago and finished college there. Most of those awesome schools, particularly in North Jersey are the product of those huge real estate taxes.

  9. I heard both, but have also heard people say IOWAY for Iowa and ILLINOISE for ILLINOIS. On the east coast I heard locals from NH refer to Concord as Concad and people from North Jersey say NORK for Newark
