  4. Before I guess, working for someone else no matter what state you are in sucks and is dangerous physically and psychologically. Going on 28 years of it, and I have lived in 4 different states. Now for the guesswork: Mississippi, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Alabama, Alaska, North Dakota, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Wyoming. Going for 5 or better.

  7. I am glad too, it is my home state. I thought it would be due to the mining, law enforcement, and construction jobs. AZ has a large population unlike the states that made the list.

  8. Jonathan Culbertson True In many parts, but northern Arizona is cooler year round and has areas that are forested with pines and aspens. The Flagstaff area is different as well as areas along the Colorado Plateau. However, it is still dry overall, and dehydration can kick in. Conditions within a mine underground can expose one to warmer temperatures even in cooler surroundings. If you have been to Phoenix in the summer, then you can easily die of heatstroke, not so much at this time.

  10. Abby C Actually those type of jobs are bad on your lower back. Sitting is the new smoking, according to recent medical research. Lower back pain could lead to pain killer dependence and/or addiction, which could be deadly.
