  1. Live in AZ too, and I would chose it over both FL and LA. There are many climates and topographical features here, and there are many people who think it is one big desert from corner to corner. Summers can be brutal in the desert regions, but summers in Florida (where I have visited numerous times) and Louisiana (where I travelled the entire state twice) can be brutal. In Florida, I would get horrendous headaches in the summer because of it.

  6. Route 550 from Montrose to Durango, CO is a very beautiful drive. I recommend that one.
