  6. That was the funniest comment about that place I have heard so far. Totally agree with you. Get out if you live there. I left there 10 years ago, and the moment I hit the Colorado line, I was in heaven. Not been there since.

  15. Small towns closer to Omaha do not care for outsiders, so I am not too sure it would be any better for one to randomly chose a small town in Western NE. The scenery is interesting in various parts, but there is at least 3 hours between the far western reaches and the front range.

I admit, I have never been to Fargo, but I have been to the far western reaches around and within Theodore Roosevelt NP, which is beautiful, but it is/was extremely isolated out there, but these days, that could be a good thing. They have excellent college football teams, if that is what you like. Seriously if you get the chance, make a trip out to the far western part of the state. Good luck

  27. @The Tranquil Heart My advice, don’t do it, I lived there for over a decade and a half (1995 to 2011), and it is a very unfriendly environment, Omaha included. Re Omaha, They have a smattering of good cuisine, architecture, a good zoo, a good museum, and some nice riverfront areas, especially around Ponca Hills. However, usually if one is an outsider there, they will always be an outsider there. Try somewhere else bro. The property taxes suck there too.
