  1. Coastal CA home prices are still going through the roof, while the places many west coast people are moving to, are going up as well, particularly in states like ID, UT, and CO. I seriously thought housing in CA would trend downward due to the greater out migration. Same with OR and WA

  2. To top it off, the jobs in Boise do not pay squat, relative to the cost of housing. I really feel bad for the locals who are eking out a living.

  4. You are better off going STEM or nothing. At the very least, learn a trade like plumbing, HVAC, or electricity. Majoring in the LA is a one way ticket to financial ruin, unless you are a trust fund baby or you can get into your family’s hedge fund company upon graduation, and never have to use search engines like INDEED.

  5. I was born in Stamford in the late 60s and then we moved to nearby Norwalk, and my childhood home cost a mere 55k back in 1970. Looked at it recently on Zillow, and it zestimated for 2.2 million. Never saw any of that appreciation in my pocket because we moved in 1977. The taxes also in both Stamford and Norwalk are horrendous. The taxes alone, can price a person out, let alone the cost of a house there. Spent most of my life in the Midwest and in Arizona, as just an ordinary breathing citizen.

  6.  @deyoungyoung3059  There is always Memphis, which is a more affordable option. I heard there were a few places in MS that were still somewhat affordable, adjacent to the city limits.

  9. Interesting video. If you cannot afford Boulder or Thornton, CO then there is always Sterling, CO to the east. If cannot afford Torrance, Oceanside, or Hayward, CA, then there is always Bakersfield, CA If you cannot afford Austin, TX, then there is always Port Arthur, TX Seriously surprised that Boise did not make the list.
