  3. Maybe not to your face, but gossip is rampant in most places there, and it is rarely positive. I have seen it first hand with in-laws. South Dakota is also like that. However, it was cool to actually see Slipknot in Iowa.

  4.  @litehold1144  I felt like you summed up the Dog Beach area in San Diego in a nutshell. Although not as extreme in that department, I literally looked out my hotel window and saw multiple people sleeping in the bushes below.

  5. I was originally from the NY area, and that occurred with me from 1995 to 2010 in Omaha Nebraska. Lived in AZ since, and have flown over that state since.

  9. I was surprised FL was not there either. IMO, the east coast of Florida is rude. I have visited there over 100 times and you get those angry New Yorkers/NJ transplants there. Also surprised AZ did make it either, which is the state I live in. We get huge amounts of CA transplants and Chicagoans. Seen my fair share of NYers and the like too. Talking mostly about Phoenix which is where most of the population is. Tucson is more chill, for now.

  12. Still think Fairfield County CT is ruder than both. People out there are probably looking down on NJ as I write this. Most people there think places like Mendham, Warren, Short Hills, Bedminster, Alpine, etc. are sitting on landfills or have refineries in there backyards. The drivers are horrible in CT too. I would take NJ over CT any day, but your property taxes suck, but so does CT.

  15. Definitely agree, I lived in the Omaha area for 15 years, and Midwest nice and backstabbing is taken to a different level there. You literally have to be born there and it is even more pronounced once you get to the smaller towns. Do not listen to John Mellencamp when sings about a small town.

  16. IMO, I have not associated So Cal with Jeff Spicoli since 1984. Guess that shows my age 😂. He also likes to give interviews to hard core drug dealers on the lam.

  17.  @robertpolnicky3262  When I lived in Omaha for 15 years, it was less like what you mentioned, but I have come across people, especially in work situations, where they would dislike you for no reason. I left that city around a decade ago, and moved to the SW USA. Here we have tons of CA transplants, but that does not bother me too much, but if we even remotely get a Nebraska transplant, I can almost guarantee that there previous attitude will be put in check, because they are out of their element. We do not get many NE residents, but we have are fair share of Chicagoans and Minnesota people. Minnesota is another story within itself. Willa Cather is from Red Cloud, I think???
