  1. Boise was nice when I visited in 2014, but it was definitely a city of haves and have nots. The place was loaded with low wage jobs amongst the ever increasing cost of real estate. Professional jobs were few and far between. Tucson is not so bad after all, lower real estate costs and much higher wages. There is also less of a dearth of professional careers. Chose the latter over the former when I left the freezing upper Midwest. VA shocked me, being number one.

  12. AZ, NM, WV, MS, KY, AL, GA, FL, AK, and HI are my guesses. The wages are subpar in virtually all of them while the cost of living is sky high in the last two.
