  2. Widespread use if antibiotics in the meat industry is what's creating the growing crisis of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. If they keep being used at there extent they are none of us will be able to use antibiotics. They just won't work any more. So no routine surgery, increased maternal and natal morbidity, untreatable infections leading to higher rates of death. There's a good reason for curbing the use of antibiotics in farming. Without antibiotics that work, we're ALL screwed
