  1. Years ago when I last watched a soap, the characters only ever talked about each other or themselves. They never once talked about anything at all happening in the "outside world"

  3. I haven't watched TV for years but until about two years ago radio 4 was permanently on. All day every day. They many trans dramas and they got rid of Jenny Murray and the spirit of woman's hour. In Our Time is about the only thing worth listening to. All other long running series have been taken over. Now, I barely switch the radio on.
