  1. I've never once associated nuclear power with nuclear bombs. Two different things. I associate nuclear power with nuclear waste. We're not very good at dealing with that. Let's fix that problem before we create more of the stuff. We're terrible at long term thinking. Nuclear waste is a very long term problem and will outlast us as a species. It's like when you learn to drive. Learn how to stop the car before you learn how to drive it. We haven't done that. Not too bright.

  3.  @dirkvanschalkwyk1919  Completely agree about more people = more power requirements. Our species is unsustainable. Incredibly greedy, incredibly wasteful. We fuck everything up. The population of the planet had more than doubled in my lifetime. I despair. I did a search on nuclear waste management on here and watched a couple of videos. I saw one that mentioned mafia links. Nightmare. What could possibly go wrong. Thing is, whatever we do, sooner or later we eff things up in unforeseen ways. We're not nearly as clever as we like to think we are. Accidents happen. Unforeseen events happen. The higher the stakes, the bigger the consequences. It's generally not a case of "if" but of "when" something devastating will happen, whatever be technology we invent. EVERYTHING we've ever invented has failed in some way, at some point, to some extent. One of the worst things we ever did was invent nuclear power and weapons. But the genie is out of the bottle.
