  1. I come from a dirt poor white family in rural England. My father was so hungry as a child he used to raid hedgerows for bird's eggs to survive. The family often had to literally just eat potatoes with salt for their entire meal. No vegetables, no meat, no gravy, no bread, nothing. Just potatoes. They were starving. I'm the first person in that family who ever got a university education, a degree. It took someone from our family nearly a 100 years to get the education to graduate.
