Read the letters of desperately poor working class women who were condemned to pregnancy after pregnancy because of lack of access to birth control published in the book *Dear Dr Stopes edited by Ruth Hall*. These women many of whom endured 12-14 pregnancies, often had several miscarriages in between the pregnancies. Children die in infancy to women like this, the poor, unhealthy and malnourished because of lack of money.., read their letters published in this book. Then see why the provision of birth control and advice to working class women was so desperately needed and appreciated. The book is an eye opener and desperately sad. Please seek out a copy if you can.
