  1. The whole thing must have been so uncomfortable. Hot, sweaty, the heat of the candles and the people, made worse by all the jumping about. I would have been an absolute puddle within minutes. And all that food and drink. And no proper underwear?? Where and how did people go to the loo? How did people with bladder weakness cope? How did women cope when they had their period???
