It's adults' job to educate kids about all the dangers they might face out in the world, you can't wrap kids up in cotton wool, but you can teach them to be aware of dangers out in the world; lakes, rivers, quarries, heights, railway lines, bridges, abandoned buildings, solvents, fireworks, fire, strangers, traffic.... Unless you tell them they won't know and we don't want them to learn the hard way. Kids in that town will all have learned through what's happened to those poor kids. What a senseless tragedy 💔

  7. I grew up in the 1970's On TV then, there were many different public safety information films shown regularly. You can probably find many of them here on YouTube. They were deliberately scary. They highlighted the dangers to kids so we were taught to be wary. Of course occasionally accidents still happened but I'm sure many kids would have been kept safe by them.
