  1. Which it's why it's a personal choice either way. She shouldn't have been pressurised to have an abortion but neither should anyone be pressurised not to have one. We live in a free society. Women should have the choice, but coupled with the best advice and choice of birth control available, including even sterilisation if a woman knows that she never will want children. Barrier methods in addition are a good choice if people need to protect themselves from STDs, but with effective birth control those methods, with a high failure rate won't need to be relied on for their birth control properties. I always advocate the use of IUDs, especially the non hormonal ones, as they provide a very good protection from protection, have very few side effects, no ongoing medical costs (a one off once every ten years fitting) and is fully reversible when no longer required, either a woman decides she's ready to start a family or she's reached menopause and no longer able to get pregnant so no longer requires birth control. She just gets the IUD removed.
