Their hero Trump once claimed to have ended homelessness in DC meaning he had an area swept for an event. He did express compassion once, he said it was hard for people on their way to work to have to walk by the homeless...

@LucasDimoveo yes but they needed to be replaced with something better. In California Reagan also passed a law making it extremely hard to have people committed, resulting in many severely ill people becoming homeless and never getting treatment

@waterandafter his idea was to let people live with their families and go to day care facilities but he didn’t realize that a lot of people didn’t have families that could take them in. Kennedy’s plan was to replace large institutions with smaller better facilities, closed the “ snake pits” but didn’t follow through with the replacements
