  1. Obama :The Confederacy was on the wrong side of history. Typical statement to justify pay back time mentality and arrogance that pervaded his final 4 years. With regards to Cecil John Rhodes statue being removed from UCT campus to apease the 'student ' protesters (at least Oxford seems to show more spine for the time being ) it failed to satisfy the militant groups merely encouraging them further in demanding removal of all Colonial monuments. In Zimbabwe were black nationalist sentiments run high within ZANU PF demanding the removal of the Matopos hills monument and repatriation of the remains of CJ Rhodes and other early white settlers back to Britain, it was opposed by the local Chief , the archaeology fraternity as well as by President RG Mugabe. Mugabe said something to the effect :'Why should the bones of a long dead gay white man scare me ' ,amazing how a nonagenarian DICKtator can make more sense than the previous POTUS.
