  4. South Africa was a negotiated settlement with a Constitutional Democracy and regular Elections. The SA government( Afrikaaner Nationalists) were forced to the negotiation table by the Economic Sanctions impossed on the SA Regime by the USA, the economic downward spiral eventually had enough effect on their ability to fund the SA Military that the NP leadership agreed to change course. I know that it sounds romantic to refer to the ANC armed struggle as having played a role but it actually played a miniscule one at best.The ANC was the only Liberation Movement that could never control a single cubic mm of the territory they were trying to liberate because the SA Security Forces were too powerful for them. I went through the Pre-transition, transition and Post-transition phase and I am still here while many " Liberals " that I knew have Emigrated( actually Fled ) instead of helping with the building of the country that they so desired to see. Despite being of a Conservative bend I knew the previous system was immoral and unsustainable and that any transition was going to be difficult. I actually love the Land and its people so I stayed while others who claimed to love the people and Land thought that these transitions would be a Hollywood movie.Once the dangers and Hardships appeared they ran for the Exit doors. The Israeli State is different because the Dual Citizens control the USA at the moment.
