The problem is that you need a BIG STATE aka Socialism leading to Communism prior to their final " Communist Utopia " phase and what Commie will ever give up that type of Power once they obtain it ? That is why you have the saying that - ' You can vote your way into Socialism but you will have to shot your way out of Socialism. " , hence why the Commies work so aggressively to disarm the population once they have enough control of the government.
