  1. EXPO 2030!!! Russia’s War On Ukraine is not yet over. The War Cleanup and Reconstruction processes have not yet started in earnest. It will take 10-15 years of economic growth to accomplish these tasks. Much of this will be necessity be foreign capital. Additionally, Ukrainians will have a lot of military bases to build (Air Force, Army, and Navy). The whole railroad system and all train rolling stock needs to be converted to EU Standard Gauge from Soviet Gauge. All Dnipro River bridges need to be rebuilt as drawbridges to the west. All of these projects will cost billions more to complete. How can anyone thing holding an EXPO 2030 in Odessa is a good idea? I can see an Odessa EXPO 2040 or 2045. By then Ukraine will be a NATO and EU country in ascendancy. Having a party on your own money will be a good thing. Having a Formula 1 Race, World Cup, or G7 Summit could all be part of a Ukrainian decade of events to complement an Odessa EXPO. Nevertheless, even the greatest optimist would not say 2030 is realistic or wise. Taxpayers in foreign countries do NOT want to pay for another country’s party!!!
