People don't mind diversity if the product is good. Do you remember the xmen in 80s and 90s? They were led by a black female, Storm. It was the most popular comic book ever and had a very diverse range of characters, it was brilliant. Current Doctor Who is rubbish, the writing is dreadful and Jodie Whitaker approached the role in a very arrogant manner, they have destroyed the franchise.
