That's why he got the job. After the chaos of Boris he is a relatively neutral character who isn't going to cause much fuss.

i wouldn't bet against Elon.

King Charles has said multiple times when he is king he is going to keep his mouth shut. Even saying "He is not that stupid". He understands he can't interfer.
12
The general rule of thumb in this country is not to annoy Isreal if you want to be elected.
8
You can't complain about stagnant wages and zero bargaining power while simultaneously diluting the labour market with limitless new arrivals. Employers don't even need to advertise the job here first either.
7
@KinchasaurasRex we have record low intrest rates and we have printed billions during the pandemic. No is taking about the consequences of covid. We smashed up the supply chain and printed money to pay the bills. The inflation is just matching the money supply.
5
Is this just a way of bringing in compulsory I.D cards by the back door?
5
Is this one of those situations where you try and blame Brexit when in reality the majority of the western world is having exactly the same problem? Because it sounds like it is...
5
It was Terresa May's original protocol.
4
@theantiantichrist England has 1500 years of history, 1500 of monarchy. A common language, currency, the best universities in the world, endless supplies of coal, oil,gas and renewable energy. We are self sufficient in wheat, milk, eggs and potatoes. England is a very united country and you saw that in Brexit vote. So what you on about?
3
...lockdowns. The gift that keeps on giving.
3
We are such a miserable country, we just sit around wallowing in self pity. Its pathetic to be honest.
3
Tangible relaity?? You are aware we have already left?
2
It's already been split. It depends if she can reabsorb the Reform voters.
2
....unfortunately Andrew none of your "orginal thoughts" belong to you.

We became world leaders in other areas, video games, finance, entertainments, sports ect. The F1, all teams are based here. The Premiership, its world famous!! London is also a world leading city. We make the best video games and in recent times exported Harry Potter, Ed sheeran and Adele. We just dont compete in a conventional sense, but that was the whole point!!
2
@thedude9014 London is still culturally the world's most significant city. The premier league is still gaining abroad and terms of filming we are still very competitive. The low pound is the problem, people's disposal income is being spent on fuel (it is bought in Dollars) Boris also keeps putting up taxes.
2
@crewie94 apart from the USA and Japan the UK isn't far behind. All the best games are made here. Not actually true, they are high end industry which employ people with high salaries. They then generate tax revenues which goes into the public purse. The billions of pounds generated from the premiership has completely transformed parts of Manchester and the North West. Ed sheeran is an amazing man, he generates millions and pays his taxes. He single handed pays for a nhs hospital.
2
@crewie94 the UK economy is diverse, we have 5 million self employed, produce oil, gas, a car manufacturing base. We export financial services. A booming leisure industry and a world class agricultural sector. The diverse nature of economy is endless!!
2
@HH-hd7nd Isn't coco traded in pounds?
2
@thedude9014 London was never a center for stocks and shares. That's New York job. What it lost was irrelevant. Its place is unique.
2
@teddyboysdontknit810 It still has a open border, Great Britain gave consessions while the EU insisted on maintaining it single market. The good Friday agreement all so states Ireland must give up all territorial ambitions in Northern Ireland and both sides should be treated equally.
2
@teddyboysdontknit810 The GFA doesn't mention the Irish border and has no mention of the EU.
2
@arthurgoodness7865 he British won. They effectively achieved all their objectives and Ireland gave up any type of claim to Northern Ireland. Maintaining both the EU single market and the GFA agreement does not work, you are effectively isolating one of the main communities!! The new Windsor framework is actually an acknowledgement of that.
2
Hmmm. I think of him as a slightly older, more depressing version of Blair. Without communication skills. Do you actually believe what you are saying, Marr?
2
They said this in 1997. It never happened.
1
Why would they? They'd have less power.
1
if millennials can't afford a house with record low deposits, interest rates, and repayments they really have no hope. In the last 13 year's we have had all three.
1
....and none of them are likely to vote.
1
Well that's a lie, our monarchy goes back to the 6th century and the house of commons and Lords in its current form dates back 800 years.
1
A unelected leader, high taxes, lockdown partying, 10% inflation, record government debt, intrest rate raises, falling house prices. The list is actually pretty long...
1
.....Brexit. Probably. It allowed a dead conservative government to continue. Corbyn sat on the fence. Boris offered a direction.
1
@kokomormon wealth is distributed better here than other European nations. We also have free healthcare. The average person owns more here.
1
We have a monarch as head of state. They are elected. Boris was humiliated and kicked out. Gordon Brown was chased down the street by the media. So no. Not by a long way. Infact I say we have a very good tradition of "humanising" our politians.
1
We don't need food or any form of sensible farming policy. We have environmental scientists to tell us what to do.
1
10% inflation, stagnant wages, 5 million small businesses forced to go contactless, forigien owned big businesses profits disappearing to off shore tax havens, small businesses profits disappearing abroad, gender equality, race equality, Sunaks taxes increases. And you should the state of the work force. We are not a healthy bunch!!Seriously, if you are a fit healthy person thats want to start a business or contribute you may as well stay in bed.
1
Unfortunately employers don't need to advertise the job in the UK first anymore and the Indian chap will work for less, speaks perfect English and will complain less too.
1
@arisdavid8193 that's because we keep printing money. We have been on a never ending quest of "quantative easing" since the 2008 crash!! The muppets can't stop spending more than they earn
1
@tariqjoseph3562 the EU is ridiculous, no one understands it how it works. All the top EU jobs are unelected, they no incentive to do the right thing by me or my family!! I elected my mp, he represents me in parliament. End of debate.
1
@sigiriya5149 are you from the UK? If you are you were not smart enough to win the debate or strong willed enough to stop us from leaving.
1
@sigiriya5149 are politicians are accountable and we have a aggressive press. Riots in France, Germans storming their parliament and zero socialmobility. Greece being bullied and its democratic will ignored. Everything looks great doesn't it?
1
@KinchasaurasRex ...that's Scotland. It chose its regional government.
1
@sigiriya5149 Luckily you have the UK to protect you, Russia would be on the Ukrainan/polish border left to you guys.
1
@KinchasaurasRex The UK is ahead of India from a gdp point. But looking at NATO and recent events the actual western world order goes America 1st and Great Britain in 2nd!! Everyone else follows in line!!
1
the housing crisis will probably solve itself...
1
you have done, they are cutting subsidies, paying old farmers to leave and encouraging environmental policies.
1
Lost control? That's rude. He never had control.
1
The UK is a net exporter of wheat and milk. We have the best farmers in the world that don't rely on subsidies.
1
@thejuiceking2219 the entire recent star wars franchise was made here and Game of Thrones and it was studios from Manchester that made the puppets for the new Pinocchio on Netflix.
1
It happened in North Shropshire. Conservatives would never vote labour but would always consider voting liberal. The problems they may face are 1) Brexit, the Liberals need to move on. Rural areas voted for and still believe in Brexit. 2) The idea of the Liberals entering a coalition with labour, if that was a prospect tory votes could switch back again.
