@teddyboysdontknit810 It still has a open border, Great Britain gave consessions while the EU insisted on maintaining it single market. The good Friday agreement all so states Ireland must give up all territorial ambitions in Northern Ireland and both sides should be treated equally.

@arthurgoodness7865 he British won. They effectively achieved all their objectives and Ireland gave up any type of claim to Northern Ireland. Maintaining both the EU single market and the GFA agreement does not work, you are effectively isolating one of the main communities!! The new Windsor framework is actually an acknowledgement of that.

didn't the majority of violence happen while Northern Ireland and Britain were part of the EU? (1973 to 1998, thats 25 years)The violence ended because the British were killing more IRA than the other way around.
