  2. Low debt is preferable. It means lower taxes and higher disposable income. If you are young, that is what you need. High debt puts you under the control of the lenders, If you annoy them, they can put up interest rates making our lives more difficult. Which is more or less what happened to liz truss.

  3. ​​​ @abody499 Partially it was. The money markets scr*wed her over because they didn't like her policies. They put up intrest rates increasing borrowing costs to the government. If we had low debt and had controlled our borrowing they couldn't have done that.
