  6. It was not the status quo. It has never been the status. Historically, parliament was sovereign, and it provided a direct link to the voters. Over the years, we've adopted a more european style of governance. That is top down!!

  7. Wow, just wow. We were historically a bottom-up democracy and is exactly how we were run for centuries. Until the EU and Tony Blair appeared on the horizon, and we went from common law and parliamentary democracy to the Napoleonic code overnight!! It was a disaster. What you now appear to want is exactly what Brexiteers want!!
