not really, the lockdowns smashed up the supply chains and caused inflation while the environmental crack pots seem to want to destroy all the productive farmers. This is a world wide problem.

@emm_arr If you shut down the entire world and then print 100s of billions to covers the bills because tax generating private business are lockdowned its going to have some very severe consequences.

@emm_arr eg, if factories in India were shut down that make tractor tyres then yes, and it was the whole world that was shut down.

The EU certainly didn't help with food production, they banned all the useful technologies used to grow food.

@emm_arr Actually they banned a large number of pesticides. We struggle to grow both Oil seed rape and Sugar beet now. They were thriving industries.

Its a complicated debate. Good health services and schools are important, but if you let the whole private sector collapse than we have no taxes to pay for the good schools and health service. Strikes and lockdowns don't hit the big companies its the small businesses and sole traders.

@ADifferentBias I don't understand what you mean? How is it contributing no taxes? Everyone I know pays tax and alot of it.
