The protocol is bad deal. Tony Blair has recently came out and argue against it, even Tony Benn a pro EU remainer has said so. Carl Frampton a Catholic boxer has taken a pop at Biden and his intervention. You have two options, let the region decend into violence or renegotiate it. Look at the bigger picture, not your one sided ideological nonsense.

The EU are mad. They are perfectly happy for Russia to invade the Ukraine and murder 10s of 1000s and comite genocide and ask for peace. But if the UK wishes to change the law in its own border they view it as a step to far!!

@johnrussell3961 ....so a sovereign nation isn't allowed to leave the EU without some compromise? The border between the UK and Ireland was working fine for 50 years before we joined.

@johnrussell3961 As much as loathe Tony Blair, one of the few things he got right was the GFA. And he is actually one of the few people that simultaneously understands the Irish, northern Irish, England and the EU. I saw a video of him at PMQs against Cammeron recently. He actually predicted Cammerons actions and ultimately the Brexit consequences (I think this was 2008).

@johnrussell3961 Tony Blair has put together an entire paper of suggestions. It's worth a read. He highlights all the problems we have now could of been forseen and the UK government needs to acknowledge that. But he also states the protocol is isolating one of the main communities and the general lack of consent. Its called "Fixing the Northern Ireland Protocol: A Way Forward"
