The left wing political realignment should of happened years ago. Alot of people currently do not have a vested intrest in our system. But the SNP in Scotland and Brexit enabled continous conservative government.

@grahamleiper1538 This is what people fail to understand. Labour need the Scottish seats to form a government. They always have done. A strong SNP have kept the Tories in power. The Torys understand this.

@davemoore5222 yes, but the snp and labour can never work together to form a government. The thought of it would make your average English labour voter vote conservative again. And if Corbyn had Scotland in 2017 they would of arguably won the election.

@davemoore5222 2019 was the Brexit vote. Boris gave a clear direction, Corbyn missed the boat and sat on the fence. People like leadership and a clear choice. Labour did not offer that.

@davemoore5222 Corbyn was by many definitions was a hero. He rose above every challenge that was presented to him. He was respected by the left and the right. Even Jacob Reese mog spoke highly of him (I can guess you will disagree with that comment)

@davemoore5222 no I'm not. He was popular. On a basic psychology level he appealed to people. Everyone doubted he'd win the leadership contest. He won. The media attack him. He won. He survived backbench rebellions, numerous Leadership contests, slander and navigated labour to a very good result. In 2017 he was arguably was the most powerful man in British politics. When I refer to a hero I mean it, he over came obstacles and gain more followers as a result. The British public noticed.

@davemoore5222 parliament was paralysed. It really couldn't carry on like that. An election was the correct choice.

@grahamleiper1538 "Labour are dead in Scotland" Yes, that is one of the reasons why we will have had 15 years of Tory government when the next election comes around.
1
@grahamleiper1538 ....but never say "dead". Sometimes situations can change remarkably quickly.
1
@grahamleiper1538 I'm not blaming the Scottish people. I am pointing out ever since Labour lost Scotland to the SNP they have effectively been sidelined to a minority party and helped to ensure continous conservative rule for the past 15 years.

@grahamleiper1538 85% of the UK population live in England. The Torys don't need to win anything Scotland or Wales. Labour however do.
