  1. it's a everything problem. The weak pound isn't helping. Raising intrest will help, oil is bought in dollars. It may destroy all the recent home owners though who bought at the peak of the market. They have no option but to raise intrest rates.

  3.  @baronvonlimbourgh1716  The thing is though, when it comes to home owning everyone is a speculator. During the pandemic house prices have risen and people have borrowed heavily to get on the next rung of the housing ladder. Intrest rates need to go up, but they can't because people have borrowed so heavily to buy a nice house. Everything appears on a knife edge.
