  1. The auto start/stop system 100% causes engine damage in the form of wear and tear. Its delusional to say otherwise. Clearly, there is a limit to how many times a starter can be used. There is also a limit on how many times you can start/stop an engine before you destroy it.

  6.  @need100k  . Do you realize that newer cars are designed to turn off at stops and restart? The car could be restarting several times during a single trip. Again, 11k miles is nothing especially for people who take good care of their car such as not driving it while cold and doing proper maintenance. I agree that short trips do more wear than longer trips but an engine isn't going to fail in 11k miles regardless of the length of trips.

  7. You're not going to convince me that his auto start/stop system is better than not having it. I'm getting an aftermarket device to disable it. There is no data to show the damage of these auto start/stop systems because they haven't been around long enough. Common sense dictates that the more you stop/start an engine the more wear and tear you're going to have. This isn't debatable. Thanks for the thorough video on the subject!
