Money pit? You must have been watching Scotty's channel. Next, you're going to recommend a '94 Celica. lol
37
84 month auto loans on vehicles that start falling apart after 5-6 years. Insane!
28
1.7% car drop is nothing when they are marked up 30%. I hope the cars rot in the lots until prices come back to reality.
27
Prices are finally coming down and deals can be found. I would do a lot of shopping comparison and make dealers work hard for your money. Never pay above MSRP no matter what.
24
Still too early to be in the market for a car. The dealerships will be begging us to take the cars off the lot by this time next year. Give it time.
22
$1,000 car payments are insane. Especially, in lower earning states like Texas.
20
In other words, insurance companies pocketed huge savings over the pandemic while people were stuck at home but now that people are back on the road they stiff the customers with steep rate hikes.
20
I think a lot of middle class people recently found out that they're poor due to runaway inflation.
15
I'll probably be in the market for a new car next year. I'm holding out as long as I can.
15
@influentialnobody8960 . Work on your reading comprehension.
15
Good! Let the dealers reap what they sow.
13
@im2tweaked . Then you better find a way to replace the car before it completely craps on you. I've been repairing my car for about three years now but over that time I started saving for a downpayment. If I can get another year out of the car I'm set.
12
Only fools are purchasing vehicles above MSRP and they're making life difficult for the rest of us. I've been saving every month for the past two years for a new car and will continue to save as long as car prices are bloated and above MSRP as they are now. What's going on in this country is a disgrace and its not just the auto market.
12
Just the beginning. Don't give in people!
10
Sounds like bs. California will be out of water by 2035. They should spend more time worrying about where they're going to get water and let the car market work itself out.
10
Good for those of us who enjoy driving standard.
8
The usual suspects on this list.
8
Only the start after dealerships took full advantage of their customers. Let the cars rot on those lots until dealerships start going bankrupt.
8
Most middle class consumers can't follow these outdated guidelines. Might as well ride a bicycle to work.
8
Agreed!
7
When my time comes to buy a new car I'm only looking at two things. Total invoice price and interest rate. Everything else is secondary. I already know what I can afford so things like length or of term or payment amount are non topics of discussion for me. They can try all the gimmicks they want but if they push too hard I'll take my business elsewhere. I should add that I can purchase my next car in cash so the only barrier to me purchasing a car is honesty or lack of there of from the dealership.
7
A family member told me her friend loves their Jeeps. She was shocked when I told her they were junk. The thing is that many owners replace the car every 3-5 years and pass down the problems to the next owner. People who want longevity don't buy Jeeps.
7
50% cuts? Why not give them away free? Clueless!! lol
6
That's crazy!
6
Why do you need to get rid of a 2 year old car?
6
@mariomarin1552 .Sounds like buyers remorse. I would hate to trade in a car only two years after I bought. Anyway, good luck!
6
Smaller cars are more "dangerous" than the massive cars on American roads. Nothing new.
6
EVs are a waste of money. Especially used ones.
5
Its well known.
5
You can always walk away. How does negotiating not apply? LOL
5
Great review man! Straight to the point, clear, and great presentation overall!
5
How did Biden increase gas prices in Texas?
5
As a longtime Accord owner I can say that it has fallen behind the competition in overall quality/durability and aesthetic appeal. My next car will be a SUV and more than likely a Lexus or Acura depending on what they offer and price at the time of purchase. Great video. Thanks!
5
@TyroneSettles . Anyone who paid over MSRP will deeply regret that decision. Especially, those who paid $15-$20k above MSRP and are underwater.
5
No payment here in about 8 years. Unfortunately, the time for a new car is near. Holding out as long as possible.
5
I'm afraid Honda is not what it used to be with those tiny turbo engines and cvts. I recently upgraded from Honda to Acura. No regrets!
4
@mauro_zard . That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm ready to purchase a new car but I'm going to sit it out until next summer and will gladly wait another six months if for some reason prices haven't come back to earth by next summer.
4
A lot of us don't want EVs (disposable cars).
4
Let them rot!
4
That must be a joke. $100k for a vehicle is still upper class money today. An online calculator shows that a $100k vehicle with a $10k down payment at 4% interest over 6 years would have a monthly payment of $1,500. Add insurance and fuel and you're easily looking at $2k per month on vehicle expenses. You have no idea what you're talking about.
4
This "structural shortage" is going to blow up on the faces of these greedy dealerships. The smart consumers will continue saving and waiting until asset prices drop to before jumping in the market.
4
Your opening statement is a complete contradiction to the video. The overall quality of Accords have gone down significantly and the new ones look disgusting. Accords used to be a fun and affordable sedan but now they're overpriced oil-burning clunkers. It seems the Japanese are learning too many bad habits from American counterparts.
4
How much does it cost to replace the car battery on a Tesla?
4
No regrets yet! You clearly don't know much about cars!
4
When do you foresee the auto market pricing improving?
4
Everyman Driver's next video: "Why you should get a '94 Celica."
4
Its insane how expensive everything has gotten in recent years. Also, I think leasing is a waste of money except for those that need to drive a new car for whatever reason. The total payments in those low end models you showed comes out to about $15k over three years. I'd rather have a higher monthly payment over a 5 year period and own the vehicle outright at the end of the term than to start a new lease three years later.
4
Yep. I was considering this vehicle but after a long thought I realized for the price is just not worth it. I'd rather get an Acura RDX for a few thousand more than a $40k (hybrid) Touring that can barely push itself around.
4
Wait until summer or fall 2023

A storm is coming!
