  4. I know a lot of British/ UK people hate Johnson but as an American who's only real knowledge of him is the way he handled the invasion of Ukraine I have a completely different opinion of him. I'm still trying to understand why he should be fired as PM for throwing a party. Seems petty to me given that his counterpart in the US, Trump, was inciting an insurrection in Capitol Hill at around the same time.

We just got out of a 20 year war in the middle east that cost us trillions, we're financially supporting Ukraine, we're trying to protect Taiwan, and we're having problems with inflation. We're spread too thin. Unless we want to completely wreck our own economy our assistance to Israel should be very limited. The entire middle east wants Israel out. The more we get involved the harder the middle east will push to have Isarael removed. Its a no win for the USA. NATO is also in no mood for another conflict.

  22. I have lived in the USA all my life and honestly our mainstream news hardly focuses on international news unless its a major event. For example, last year (I believe) we had wide coverage of the Australian fires and the earthquakre in Haiti). We also had wide coverage of Brexit but hardly mainstream news anymore. Currently, there is a focus on the truck crash that killed dozens in Mexico. But day to day Americans are more or less clueless as to what goes on outside of our borders.

  50. I'm sure NATO members that refuse to comply can be kicked to the curb and they can protect themselves. Given small and inept countries like Hungary don't have the ability to defend themselves against a foe like Russia I doubt any NATO member will refuse to comply with Article 5 unless they intend to side with Russia.
