  1. Dr. Zeihan, here is one linguistic-cultural idiosyncrasy that’s gotta go. We (you included) need to find a word for, “citizen of the USA”. The term, “American” applies to Peruvians and Canadians as much as to those who travel on a passport of the USA. “USA’ian” or “US’ite” comes to mind. As Mexico, Brazil, and the other nations south of us rise, which is but a decade away, most customs and borders folk abroad (other than Canada and Europe) will refuse to keep depriving the other Americans (inhabitants of the Americas) of their common sense appellation, just because we arrogated it to ourselves. “What is your citizenship?” “I am American” “US American?” “Yes” …. That’s how it’ll go with the polite folk. With the less solicitous, a US’ite could face some rude handling.
