@Yvaneify model 3 is not luxury but premium. the performance, comfort, sound system, seats, infotainment make it premium.

@dark.zeitgeist it's ok to pay for a service right? do you expect internet and all channels at home for free ? navigation with live traffic is also a service but you can get it for free on your phone, so I d say it's up to you. never had navigation in my car but I'd rather choose paying once to get carplay/Android auto never paid for Sirius but IF you get quality radio without ads it's worth something. not being hammered with stupid ads 50% of the time ia worth something. here you are paying for the battery degradation, sounds ok to me too the problem is paying a subscription just to unlock a feature which is already there like rear wheel steering
2
@hoangdzung6983 it's true but also not every Tesla battery fails after 8 years or 110k miles. life expectancy is more like 10-15 or years 200k miles if used properly. but even then,. that's still more than $100 per month/$.1 per mile, so basically more expensive than vinfast subscription. I think also from a sustainable perspective, having battery replacements over the car 's residual value means more perfectly working cars with just a failing battery being scraped, so battery replacement costs need to go down and battery recycling needs to improve, otherwise EV transition is not going to turn out so great for the planet

this video makes me feel bad about my motorcycle days where I would just find the cheapest motorcycle that hadn't run for over a year, ride a train to get there, bike would hardly start after lot of efforts, and just ride bike home. Also not performing basic maintenance, I blew up a Honda XR 600 engine that had an oil line so old it got pinched and blocked all the oil flow
2
haha you can embarrass a lot of drivers with it, whether it's big trucks / SUVs . I played a bit with a model S plaid in town (first Tesla ever that I could trigger for some action 😄), got ahead in the traffic. not saying performance is comparable of course but in real life when you need to squeeze in small gaps the size helps a lot. if you add the time to find a. parking slot the the 500e is WAY ahead 😄
2
10:57 boring?
2
@Leer280 talking about motorcyles, if you except young riders with limited displacement, in rich western countries where motorcycle is more often a hobby/lifestyle than a practical transportation, almost are motorcycles are 500-1500cc, but mostly > 600cc 4cyl or 650 cyl most experienced riders like to have 1000cc or more, or lets say at least 100hp. truth is that any cc will happily overtake anything doing legal speed without breaking a sweat, and additional power will mostly add risks rather than reduce it. Of course, in the end, it's how you ride that will create or minimize risks
2
@automation7295 that was a joke 🤣 although you never know with Elon, the fact that no other manufacturer would do it could be a good reason. But that would be weird to mix his son's name with previous "S3XY" and other 69 & 420 jokes
2
yep, mass is still the same. It generates more rolling resistance but its hardly measurable compared to air drag resistance at 230+ mph especially with high downforce configuration like F1. Acceleration is still reduced because X% of the power is used just to maintain speed against the high drag, only the rest is used for acceleration. not because of more weight/mass. At the same time, increased down force means MORE power to the ground exiting corners. for breaking, downforce helps twice, both increasing grip/max braking power, plus acting like air brakes. F1 with active aero would be completely insane
2
@Curt_Sampson mass is the same on Mars but the low gravity means it would have shitty traction thus shitty acceleration. but much higher top speed thanks to low atmospheric pressure
2
@etherealicer I very much prefer foldable plastic box. it doesn't take much space when you don t use them. then you can stuff all your groceries in one or two boxes. no need for bags and you can arrange things with heavy at the bottom, fragile on top and make sure everything is snug, this way you dont break eggs, or smash fruits and veggies and it stays in place in the trunk
2
love it 😂whats not to love with this size, power, acceleration, top speed, the burnouts...the weight is crazy though. and ive owned a smart fortwo convertible and a fiat 500e (currently) but this is not even close. if the battery weight is really enough to make it stable .. (🤔) then all it needs is a suspension that can corner flat while still absorbing shocks, something like pneumatic or active suspension. Id still be surprised to see it perform really well in a moose test at high speed ?? but who knows..(BTW in a standard moose test despite the instability of such a narrow wheelbase, it would have a big advantage compared to a 2m wide car, thanks to its width it wouldn't need to steer as much
2
@The412Devil and also gas taxes/subsidies. Europe has a minimum ~$1.55 / gallon tax on gas. most rich countries are rather around $3/gallon. us federal + local tax averages $.34 while subsidies average $.28 so overall tax is only 2% so way less than average sales tax which explains much lower gas price
2
@Gehajjs62727 or maybe just because it's a limited ressource, the few countries that produce most of the oil just try to make as much $$ as possible and keep the reserves during for as long as possible. this is what happens with free market and cartels agreeing on prices
2
self driving cars can actually greatly improve traffic. Of course not if they are phantom braking which actually make things worse
2
or no steering wheel and just a PS5 controller
2
@quillmaurer6563 like if a Portuguese/Brazilian girl invites you for a ride in her Kona ?
2
@tl8211 last time I was in a car with a Brazilian girl, was a smart fortwo. little cramped but still nice. took the long way home and avoided highway...safety first
2
@retoadyt3196 to be fair, you can't just scale a motor and make same power/displacement. huge engines don't like to rev that high. if you add cylinders, then you can keep revving. for instance take two gt350 engines for a 10l V16 that makes 1056hp. but a 10l V8 can't make that power so easily. higher piston speeds, heavier pistons don't like high redlines.
2
ahah just saw you beat me to make that comment..too late
2
@cafemochaaa so that they can buy virtual yachts an jets
2
@slapdoctor707 who says there won't be wars there too...sounds way less scary though
2
@REH86 yes I be seen big trucks pulling big boats 90+ on it in Florida during a rainstorm you could hardly see 50ft ahead, cops didn't care
2
@jmdeottawa.gatineaucestgay289 actually most people who buy light duty pickup trucks nowadays don't even tow or use the bed once a year they are buying an image of toughness and ruggedness that they see in the ads, like lot of Harley Davidson buyers
2
@aphex14 also bigger cars, longer distances. people spend more on car in the US than pretty much everywhere. average $800 /car / month all included. maybe not Dubai though, even if gas is way cheaper they spend more on cars 😂..

"The Island Cruiser is a comfortable two-door vehicle mounted on a fibreglass chassis and equipped with a 1.5-litre Japanese-made engine. It can attain top speed at 170 km per hour" looks definitely like the kind of car you want to drive at 170km/h on Jamaican roads...(which suddenly turn into dirt roads or have potholes you could use to remove a wheel without a jack)
2
@wolfgang_h3t maybe it reaches 170kmh on a Dyno..I'd be surprised it reaches the speed IRL the Toyota Yaris automatic hatchback I rented in 2019 drove and sound like it had a lawn mower engine. it wasn't able to maintain speed in climbs. felt awfully underpowered compared to my 2008 1.3 90hp Yaris. battery unplugged itself after driving carefully on a. bumpy road. it felt much lower quality than the European spec Yaris made in France. maybe they take out the Toyota engine, sell it, and swap it with but back to the island cruiser if it's a state of the art Japanese 1.5 engine from 2000 like the Yaris 1.5 vvti it pumps out more than 100hp and is way capable of 170km/h
2
@wolfgang_h3t 170km/h with the top off on Jamaican roads with sound system in the trunk
2
@jonbar140 sure there is not one magical speed that works for every vehicle
1
@CalgarGTX what kind of progress ?
1
@lawofliberty3517 there are a lot of factors at play that can influence mpg more than AC. speed/traffic/wind..he could have faulty AC too. don't forget in most case windows down won't give you the same temperature/comfort as AC if you compare slightly opening the windows vs AC at full blast, You might have better mog without AC but it doesn't mean anything
1
@hughmccann7701 it looks like you are hypermiling, which could explain why you are getting way better mileage with a manual. it's is very uncommon to get better mileage in town than on highway, wether it's an auto or manual, but manual give you more control for hypermiling also automatics progressively got as good or better than manual with lock up converter, planetary gears/getting more and more speeds, ECU controlling the shifts etc so comparing manual and automatic you must also consider the age and technologies used by automatic. PS sorry I just realized I misread manual being more efficient than auto in town, not more efficient than on the highway. torque converter wastes heat when starting from a stop, but so do clutches. torque converter should be locked up 99.9% of the time, even during shifts. except in stop/go/idle traffic
1
@hughmccann7701 yep it's pretty much the opposite with new transmissions they're pretty much locked all the time except from a stop, like a sequential transmission or dct, also with more gears an better ECU in eco mode they can be almost in the most efficient gear so they can make up for having slightly more drag, except if you are hyper milling with a manual also due to emissions tests manuals are sometimes geared too long, harming performance without really improving real world mileage while automatics get launch control, so automatics are getting better and manual somehow worse. some get improvements like rev matching but also rev hang can make them less fun to drive. I'll still pick manual any day...except maybe if driving only around town
1
you should do it with brand new cars, it would be actually cheaper 😂
1
6:35 :-D
1
torque is not crazy for a 631ci. BMEP is about the same as a mustang GT. still quite impressive, and definitely in the upper range but similar or lower than some stock engines. still, with all that displacement, and relatively high rpms, it makes a lot of power and is probably easy to tune for even more powa babe

not everything is accurate. look at dragtimes Channel. the plaid had done 1.98 0-60 (with rollout) and 9.23 1/4 mile ON THE STREET https://youtu.be/-AQZh7VBhM0 look at 7:08 it has also done 9.9 1/4 mile at 20% SoC 2.2s 0-60 on the street under the rain, and it's done conistent, repeatable times. the cheetah stance is the cherry on the cake but 9.6 was without drag strip mode, no conditioning (almost like doing 1/4 mile in an ice right after cold starting it), no launch control. I think with you can launch it without waiting for full cheetah stance and it doesn't impact quarter mile that nuch

alternator is gonna cook next to those headers

Ford dealership called me back because they had a maverick that the client didn't take delivery of turned out to be $41k, I didn't even asked the trim and options.. more than twice the base MSRP. what's the point getting a small, gas sipping truck if it costs more than a medium truck
1
I think the super fans shifts our perception into thinking most tesla owners are like them, or even share a lot in common. living in theDC area there's a LOT of tesla's on the roads, but nobody seems interested in racing them for instance. mostly older people, they like to have performance or at least dual motor version but drive them like they were mitsubishi mirage, don't put wrap on them or vanity plates. young car enthusiast seem to prefer type r or miatas, s2000. pretty far from stereotypes, or at least lets agree there are several stereotypes, and the most visible on social media are not the most visible on the roads
1
WTF is a launch control and made for the road? you should have gave it a try with standard mode and TC off
1
@angelgjr1999 it's safer for the driver in the hummer EV than for the Corolla it's going to hit at the end of the straight 😂
1
@aliasfakename2267 the H1 will use just as much diesel as the EV uses battery charge, to get to the same speed. it has similar range to the hummer EV but if you drive it really hard range will dip way faster. electric motors efficiency is pretty consistent unlike ICE
1
@randomexcalmain4512 ower at 0mph is 0kW and from there it's basically linear. it's probably hardly hitting max power at 50-60mph so probably more like half of that kinetic energy of 9000lbs at 60mph is 0.4kWh or 0.2% if it was 100% efficient actual battery drain would be somewhere in between. baseline is weight affects efficiency during acceleration/braking cycles but not nearly as much as on a gas car thanks to Regen. weight also slightly impacts highway cruising range like any ecause higher weight means higher rolling resistance
1
@GloryXSniping69 ore like 0.3% if it's 60% efficient. I'd love to see the average mpg during the 14s the H1 is doing 0-60 too 😂 probably more like gpm than mpg. at least the hummer EV will recover maybe 50-60% charge when slowing down
1
plaid doesn't go 216 stock, it's with a hack device that unrestrict top speed
1
most Americans thing is driving in the left lane whatever your speed 😂
