coating in neutral kinda works if you are going downhill and don't need engine breaking.if you're in gear you ' ll need some throttle. but generally speaking downhill just lift throttle and use the gear that will maintain correct speed without throttle or braking.

@kl9518 cutting (non blind) corners on b roads is also more comfortable at same speed by making smoother entry and exit into and out of corners. as long as passengers trust you and don't think you are drunk/not controlling the vehicle

@kalmmonke5037 everything can be recycled, it's just often too expensive/energy intensive. the hardest to recycle in an electric car is the batteries. more r & D must be done into making more recyclable batteries. there are several solutions. first make batteries last as long as possible with good thermal management, and good charging patterns. this can be done consciously or optimized by IA. don't charge to 100% when you don't need to. don't drain to 0% either. don't stay for long periods at low or high SOC. fast charge only when necessary. batteries can last hundreds thousands of miles. second, when needed, recondition batteries by replacing dead /unbalanced battery cells and extract the most life of all the cells . third, when all cells are down on capacity, use the batteries with lower capacity for applications that don't need energy density like home solar batteries. last, recycle battery cells hopefully battery recycling will become a profitable and will reduce emissions and recycle rare materials once lot of used Evs will reach end of life and get scraped

good fuel saving if you are not considering an EV is a PHEV. sure you'll still need home charging (or charging at work) to take full advantage but you just need a 110v outlet to plug the lvl1 charger included with your car. you get also the 7.5k tax credit which makes it not more expensive than regular hybrids. good example is the RAV4 prime which is much more powerful than the other trims, and will cost you zero gas on a regular commute and you won't need to change your habits on long trips away from your home charger. 0-60 "drops" from 5.4 to 9s one mode but you'd be surprised how little you need the additional power on a regular commute. my fiat 500e is 8s to 60 and I almost never need more than half throttle even when driving quickly through traffic or hole shooting traffic lights.

rear hatch bike rack doesn't lower mileage significantly on my Sorento V6. I've done over 30mpg driving over speed limits (with the traffic) with three bikes with the rack setup pretty low so that bikes don't go over the roof line. opposed to 25mpg EPA rating and 32-33mpg best case with very smooth traffic, reasonable speeds around 75 maybe the poiler helps, but definitely bikes in the low pressure turbulent area behind a SUV don't generate a lot of drag, probably a bit like tailgate up in a truck is actually better than tailgate down. I'm sure bike rack on a sedan trunk or even worse on the roof makes much more difference

to hypermile, if there is no traffic/stop/lifht in front and speed limit allows, you should accelerate ideally in the most efficient rpm/load sweet spot, up to top gear and then cruise at most efficient rpm. this is usually not achieved by accelerating very smoothly/slowly. recent automatic transmission should do it quite automatically in eco mode at 50/70% throttle. it's also different for every engine gas/diesel NA/turbo/supercharged diesels like low rpm high torque. but usually somewhere around half the max rpm and half throttle is not a bad spot.
