  1. If nobody held him accountable for his mistakes, it would mean nobody respected him, that nobody expected any better. Yeah, some folks take it too far and are too harsh, but having expectations that an awesome YouTuber would keep being awesome and communicating those expectations when needed is called respectful accountability.

  7. Noticing some dislike of squared corners here in the comments because of sharpness, which I've not experienced because I use a case. I would also imagine squared corners take a lot of damage on a drop, which also I've not noticed, because case.

  8. Yeah, that's the question: "What am I going to do with it?" I want cool stuff like this because it's cool. I really want the Pixel Fold, too. I really wanted the Galaxy Fold. I had the Remarkable 2 preordered, and cancelled last minute, and I guess I'm glad I don't have any of these things, because as much as I want them... What am I really going to DO with them?

  10. Impressively, it seems like most of the stress is social. We may soon get to a point where having all FSD vehicles is way safer than just a few... But as long as it's just a few, I don't think it's ever going to be quite right.

  13. So frustrating. Seems like they are targeting a price point in line with the Galaxy phones. Ditch the rear display and invest in the rear camera, ASUS... I'm this close to being on board.

As a creative person who wound up managing staff, two budgets, grant and legal compliance, and what was essentially customer support, I would like to say this same phenomenon happens outside of YouTube. It's called having a soul-sucking job, and for a lot of folks the "dream job" aspect of it just never existed.

  19. A 50/50 revenue aplit with the artists? That seems like a raw deal... Doesn't Apple get criticism for taking 30% of their App Store revenue? Am I understanding this right?

  20. "Nobody buys the bare, base model car" -- you overestimate the last decade and a half of my salary and lack of passion for vehicles. But I get what you mean -- with tech, I would NEVER get a base-model Mac. But that's the thing... there are plenty of folks that are to tech like I am to cars, and they're the ones that are really paying the premium, because they're going to need a new laptop sooner than I am.

If someone representing a company played along with the interviewer, made qualitative statements based on their own personal opinions, and demonstrated general awareness about public opinion (see Tim stumble over Magic Mouse comments -- defend it from some angle if you want, but dont pretend you dont know). I would respect them, and their product, far more.
