Everyone interprets reality through their own filter and understanding, which skews and taints how it's perceived. You, you bring up race in a situation where it's not fitting because that's how your mind works, racially and likely with bigotry. Instead of this situation being as clinical as it is, some people tried to hurt someone who was clearly armed and they payed for their stupidity, you can't help your racist mind from saying "but what about black people? They're evil and bad, right?", where race has zero to do with anything here. Think about that, try to get a handle on your prejudices and how you think.
