On public property, a gathering needs to get permits. This is for safety and to ensure the rights of the rest of the public are respected, since they too have a right to public land. Finally, freedom of speech. The protection of your speech is from government censorship, not private. Think of how youtube can censor and that's fine since it's a private platform that you don't have a protected right to. Similarly to someone trespassing on private property. It's not censorship to remove someone who is on private property, then it is simply enforcing the rights of the property owner and group that privately attends the school.
