  1. They are still Orthodox. All Orthodox Churches adhere to Constantinople. They just created a new see is all.

  2.  @aantony2001  ? Wt?... He is the metropolitan of Constantinople. Just because hagia Sophia has mirenets doesn't mean it's not a church. They all meet as they have for 2000 years. It's call ecumenical council. The Ukrainian Bishop is independent today. Russia is on it's own as well. They are all equal.

  3.  @aantony2001  yes...he is the patriarch...and like I said I just because the world doesn't recognize hagia Sophia as a cathedral. It is a cathedral to millions of Orthodox Christian through out. I crossed myself when I visited it. I also lit a candle!
